Continues changing of gear ratio is accomplished by continuously variable transmission (CVT) gearboxes that perfectly matches the torque and rotational speed of engine with output conditions. Developing CVTs for better performance and make it more reliable is ongoing effort. Here we present new ratcheting CVT mechanism that is similar to cam based CVT but instead cam it has a free shaft. New CVT is totally mechanical, frictionless and self-adjustable. Its automatic feature makes it cost effective and reliable. Wide gear ratio is achievable easily and simple structure make it more feasible. In opposite to conventional belt-type or toroidal CVTs, this new CVT doesn't use friction force, so its energy transfer efficiency improved and made it durable.
We have investigated magneto-optics in scattered light from microcrystals of ethylene terephthalate oligomers. These crystals, which are mainly cyclic trimers, has different sinusoidal responses in the magneto-optic test for right and left circularly polarized light. These responses originate from the scattering of light from an organic microcrystal. Because of the local conductivity of these oligomers, their crystals act as quantum multi-wells, the most probable mechanism for magneto-optics effect. Here we present a proper setup for magneto -optic investigation and notice the phase difference in adjacent rays of scattered beam as an origin of different results that may confuse the researchers.
There are many inflationary models compatible with observational data. One can investigate inflationary models by looking at their general features, which are common in most of the models. Here we have investigated some of the single-field models without considering their origin in order to find the phenomenology of them. We have shown how to adjust the simple harmonic oscillator model in order to be in good agreement with observational data.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
