Comme conséquence à l'extension des services offerts par Internet, et plus particulièrement par le World Wide Web, différents utilisateurs ont commencé à participer au développement de cet immense espace d'information et à l'enrichir par différents types de données (articles, pages personnelles,…), dans une perspective d'échange et de partage d'information. Nous constatons ainsi une évolution du mode de travail, l'autonomie et la coopération, ce qui a fortement développé et de manière efficace la notion de réseau de communication et d'interopérabilité des systèmes dispersés et distants.

SUMMARY ABSTRACTThis article has the intention to present a general context situating the problem of web semantic documents, to make them comprehensible both for computers and for humans. This has become possible thanks to the development of XML as standard language to structure and exchange data. XML allows us not only to separate structure and content in documents, but also to define more precise and pertinent meta-data. We also present a description of some possibilities for creating and recovering information spaces from the Web, commonly not well structured and not entirely exploited, to have them semantically usable with the system "HyWebMap".

There are just a few tools that include this new representation as well as an adequate exploitation of its richness. Just to mention two examples, Nestor and The Brain were developed in our same context but they don't consider an XML support or collaborative workspaces.From this context and thinking about the universities, members of the Paragraphe Laboratory team at the Paris8 University have developed "HyWebMap", which may be defined as navigation and structuring system for Web documents, and for creating personalized navigation spaces.
