COVID-19 is a disease that has adversely impacted the health and daily lives of people worldwide, therefore there must be measures in place to control the spread of such diseases. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) such as wearing masks and maintaining social distancing are enforced by the Government and healthcare authorities. These SOP's mitigate the spread of COVID-19, but it has been observed with concern that people do not generally follow them. This survey work explores classical techniques that can be used to detect SOP violations. These are primarily computer vision based methods used in object detection and distance estimation. We will also explore deep learning based techniques used for object detection to detect SOP violations.
