The survey of the research and development center of Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Indonesia in 2013 concluded that public awareness to consume halal products was at a high level. Although the government guaranteed halal products for the customer, the implementation is still not fully implemented. “Halal” status of the pharmaceutical product in Indonesia is still in doubt. The indicator is that 90 percent of the pharmaceutical industry's raw materials are imported materials, that have no guaranteed halal system for these products. In particular, pharmacists have an important role in the preparation of halal pharmaceutical products. Therefore, a study conducted to analyze the pharmacists' behavior regarding halal labeling of pharmaceutical products. This study focused on the behavior of pharmacists in Malang City who are members of the Indonesian Pharmacist Association/Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia (IAI) with the survey method. The objective of this study was to obtain an overview of the perception of the pharmacist on halal labeling in pharmaceutical products in Malang City. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Descriptive statistics ware used to analyze data. The results showed that pharmacists in the city of Malang accepted and strongly agree on halal labeling of pharmaceutical products.
Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) has become a global health problem since it was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) as of March 11, 2020. Data from Johns Hopkins University (as of May 30, 2020) states that 5,930,096 cases confirmed in worldwide with a total fatality rate of 6 percent The prevention from COVID-19 transmission is to maintain the immunity. One way to maintain immunity is to maintain mental health by maintaining the religiosity factor. The development of technology and information causes information COVID-19 cases circulate quickly and massively. This condition can indirectly affect mental health and behavior change of affected entities. The student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN Malang) is one of the affected entities of COVID-19. This study aims to determine the religiosity of the Faculty of Pharmacy students in facing COVID-19. The respondents of this study were 117 students of Pharmacy UIN Malang. The method used in this research is descriptive observational, with the aim to determine the religious practice or conditions of worship of students when facing an outbreak of COVID-19. The research instrument used in the form of a questionnaire related to the indicators and dimensions of the student religiosity that has been tested for validity and reliability.
Pharmaceutical service is a form of health service in pharmacy as an inseparable unit that plays a significant role in improving the quality of life of patients and also increasing patient satisfaction. Based on the preliminary study, the services whose provided by the Ganesha Farma Pharmacy staff are less satisfying to consumers, related to the friendliness of the pharmacy staff and the lack of provision of drug information by pharmacy staff. Therefore, in this study, it is expected to know the level of customer satisfaction at the Ganesha Farma Pharmacy, Lamongan Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of customer satisfaction with pharmaceutical service at Ganesha Farma Pharmacy in Lamongan Regency. The type of research was descriptive with a quantitative approach. The sampling method was non-probability sampling with the purposive sampling technique. The samples obtained were 100 respondents. The method of calculating the level of customer satisfaction was the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method. The results showed that the level of satisfaction at the reliability dimension of 70.8% (satisfied), responsivenesss 68.8% (satisfied), assurance 69% (satisfied), empathy 69.8 (satisfied), tangible 69.4% (satisfied). The conclusion of this study is the level of customer satisfaction towards pharmaceutical services at Ganesha Farma Pharmacy, Lamongan Regency is 69.56% with the satisfied category.
Background: The coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) imposed dramatic changes on pharmacy education. On-campus educational activities were suspended and transformed into online learning. Several studies reported experiences with online learning, yet few evaluated overall student acceptance and achievement of online learning. Objective: This study aimed to explore the benefits, barriers, pharmacy student learning achievement, and their recommendation towards an online learning model. Methods: A survey was conducted among 1,658 pharmacy students from 28 provinces in Indonesia using an online questionnaire that passed validity and reliability testing. Descriptive analyses were conducted subsequently. Results: Of the total sample, 85% viewed that online learning was the compelling option to continue education due to the COVID-19 travel restriction. Poor internet connectivity was the most relevant hurdle reported by two-thirds of respondents. Learning achievement was negatively affected, as the majority reported poor ability to understand the course material from lectures and laboratory practicum. In addition, the lack of class engagement was evident as students and lecturers were not prepared and adapted for virtual interaction. Conclusion: Online learning is a feasible method in the short term as it is practical and prevents COVID-19’s spread. However, this may be problematic in the longer term since it has negatively affected students’ overall performance. Some improvements can be undertaken, such as creating an engaging discussion during virtual teaching in combination with investments in better internet networks and computer access.
