48.5%) sites had headlines that portray PSA testing in a negative manner, while 14 (42.4%) and 3 (9.1%) were neutral and positive, respectively. Of the sites containing negative information, 81.0% presented negative PSA information in the first half of the article.CONCLUSIONS: Our findings demonstrate that the quality of information on PSA testing provided by news sources is poor. Additionally, the majority of headlines portray PSA testing in a negative light and articles are structured with negative information presented at the beginning of the article. Physicians should be aware that patients may be dissuaded from PSA testing based on how it is portrayed by online news sources.
