Untuk mengurangi beban mati pada konstruksi rumah, dikembangkan produk genteng dari bahan <em>Concrete foam </em>(Beton busa) diperkuat serat tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) sebagai bahan ringan alternatif. Beton busa merupakan jenis beton ringan yang menggunakan <em>foam</em> dan serat TKKS sebagai agregat ringannya. Beton busa telah diteliti dan dikembangkan menjadi berbagai produk bangunan ringan, salah satunya ialah genteng ringan. Fenomena hujan es dapat merusak pesawat, mobil, dan tentu saja atap rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa respon mekanik produk genteng dari material komposit beton busa diperkuat serat TKKS akibat beban impak yang diakibatkan hujan es. Untuk memverifikasi hasil pengukuran, dilakukan pula simulasi beban impak menggunakan <em>software</em> Ansys. Pengujian impak <em>hail </em>(hujan es), dilakukan menggunakan alat uji kompresor impak (KOMPAK) dengan batang aluminium sebagai <em>impactor</em>-nya. Pengukuran tegangan pada spesimen diukur dengan menggunakan <em>strain gages</em> untuk beton. Pengujian divariasikan dengan jarak impak <em>striker </em>dan <em>impactor</em>. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa produk genteng tidak mengalami kegagalan hingga kecepatan impak 14 m/detik. Pada jarak impak 60 mm (kecepatan impak 16,09 m/detik) genteng mulai mengalami kerusakan, dengan tegangan yang terukur pada <em>strain gage</em> sebesar 1,07 MPa. Dari hasil simulasi beban impak dengan Ansys, diperoleh tegangan normal arah sumbu X sebesar 1,0726 MPa.
this research is aim to provide design and prototype of rotary electrical controled drumdrier machine for drying organic fertilizer to increased production capacity and quality by using a source of heat energy from electricity. This machine consists of five main components i.e. drying cylinder, heating unit, support frame, engine and transmission system. Engine specifications are high 130 cm, 720 cm long, and 120 cm wide, cylinder diameter 60 cm, power engine 14 hp, and heating temperature 142 oC. engine performance test are: capasity 805,03 kg/hours, drying rate 27,40 %/hours, noise level 81,54 db. cost analysis result are operational cost 155,06 Rp/kg and Break Event Point 159.219,73 kg/years

Therefore it is necessary to identify machine components that are susceptible to damage (critical components) and it is necessary to take special care measures for critical machine components by implementing a predective maintenance schedule (Prevention). Simulation techniques, often known as Monte Carlo simulation, estimate reliability using sampling random scenario. Failure mode effect analisys (FMEA) is defined as a process used to determine the actions that should be taken to ensure that each physical item or a system can run properly according to the function desired by the user then based on data processing, replacement of the roller binding drum binding drum , angle iron welding, chain transmission component replacement, drum stopper bearing replacement. Replacement of the drum stopper bolt, replacement of the chain transmission part is very loose and the replacement of the iron is carried out in corrective maintenance (replacement of components after damage occurs). And the results at the lowest value on the thresher engine component are in the Loose Transmission Chain component, the repair rate is 0.5 hours and the number is 0.999737189.
