Background: Nanofiller composite resins are commonly used as a restorative materials but nanofiller composite resins has high susceptibility to stain. Coffee has a huge impact on color changes. Besides of being able to give a smooth surface of a composite resins, polishing techniques were able to remove superficial stain on composite resins. Air abrasion technique has been introduced since 1945 and is still being used not because its only ability to remove caries, but also its ability to remove superficial stain on the teeth. Aim: to discover the effectiveness of air abrasion technique and conventional polishing technique towards color changes in nanofiller composite resins that were immersed in robusta coffee. Materials and Method: Twenty samples were immersed in robusta coffee for 7 days. Samples that have been stained were devided into two groups, group one were polished with air abrasion technique and group two were polished with conventional technique using abrasive discs. The color changes measurement were taken using spectrophotometer VITA Easyshade V prior to and after staining, and then repeated after polishing treatment. Result: There were significant differences in L, C and E between before the samples were immersed in robusta coffee and after they were polished with air abrasion technique. But there were no significant differences between before the samples were immersed in robusta coffee and after they were polished with conventional technique. Conclusion: There were differences in the effectiveness of air abrasion technique and conventional polishing technique towards color changes in nanofiller composite resins that were immersed in robusta coffee.

Background: Dental bleaching is a teeth enlighten process that also omit the teeth enamel and the dentin colour. Chromogen from food and drink that is people consumed might causing an external dischloration. One of material that could decrease the external dischloration and enlight the teeth colour is oxalic acid. Oxalic acid are abundant in green kiwi fruit (Actinidia deliciosa). Purpose: To examine the effect of green kiwi juice (Actinidia deliciosa) toward colour changing in dental bleaching. Methods: The used samples are 20 premolar teeth which passed a measurement colour process that is done both before and after the probation. The measurement is done by Spectrophotometer Vita easyshade. The samples were divided into 2 groups, they are the group which is soaked for an hour in 100% green kiwi juice (Actinidia deliciosa) and the controlled group which is covered by 35% carbamide peroxide for an hour. The experiment is done for 14 days. Result: The experiment shows the existence of colour changing after the immersion process in 100% green kiwi juice (Actinidia deliciosa) with significant result or significantly different of (colour’s changing total) is about (p≤0,05) before and after the test. Here, the samples are brighter after the immersion inside green kiwi juice (Actinidia deliciosa) with increasing value (lightness). Conclusion: Green kiwi fruit (Actinidia deliciosa) is a potentially material for dental bleaching as the effect of external dischloration.

Kata Kunci: Rontgen Gigi, Kesehatan Gigi, Peran Ibu ABSTRACT In general, the mother figure plays a very important role in shaping the mindset of every member of her family. Nowadays, people are accustomed to having a critical mindset. This affects dental care. In some cases of treatment, the need for dental X-rays is inevitable. Proper education can be an early form of good communication to an action in dental health care such as a request for willingness to do dental X-rays to establish the right diagnosis so that dental care can provide maximum success. This activity aims to provide education and understanding to the mother community on the importance of dental X-rays as a supporting action in dental health care. This activity is carried out online through the zoom application by applying two-way communication methods actively and interestingly to avoid saturation. The delivery of materials is carried out by the selection of language that is easily understood by the public. This activity showed an increase in knowledge based on the results of the participants' pretests and posttests and the enthusiasm of participants in Q&A related to dental X-rays. This activity can be carried out with a good success rate because it is supported by the right methods and good communication between the implementation team and the community. Minimal intervention dentistry (MID) is a modern approach to the management of dental caries. The philosophy of professional care in minimal intervention dentistry can be defined as focusing on the initial symptom, early detection, immediate treatment on a micro scale, followed with minimally invasive and patient-friendly treatment to restore damages caused by dental caries. Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the knowledge and attitude about minimal intervention dentistry among dental students in clinical years and postgraduate dental students in the faculty of dentistry, Universitas Trisakti. Method: This research was conducted using descriptive observational cross-sectional design on dental students in clinical years and postgraduate dental students. The data were collected using a questionnaire. Result: Total of 129 respondents were involved. Almost all research subjects could answer the questionnaire correctly regarding knowledge with 71,93% of dental students in clinical years and 84,38% of post graduate dental students. In attitude section, have a positive attitude with 74,28% of dental students in clinical years and 87,5% of post graduate dental student agree with the concept of minimal dentistry intervention, while the attitude in daily practice of dental students in clinical years answered that they had never do minimum intervention procedure with 32.7% and post graduate dental student answered sometimes do that procedure with 32.1%. Conclusion: Dental students in clinical years show good knowledge and positive attitude, but it doesn’t affect their attitudes in daily practice, whereas residency doctors have good knowledge, attitude, and practices that include into the positive category of minimal interventions dentistry.
