This study aims to analyze connection self-efficacy toward the ability of critical thinking on the material of circe of junior high school students. This research method using the qualitative descriptive method. This research is conducted in SMP Negeri 9 Cimahi in Grade IX of the academic year 2017-2018. The population of this study is the students of class IX SMP Negeri 9 and the subject of the research is all the students of class IX-A that consist of 34 students. To obtain the research data used the instrument in the form of test description and questionnaire self-efficacy. The results of the research concluded: (1) the level of students' mathematical critical thinking ability in the problem solution is still low; (2) students' difficulties, in general, have not understood the problem and the preconception is still low; (3) students have not embedded the sense of learning independently; (4)there are connection which is significant between self-efficacy toward mathematics critical thinking.
The use of mathematical software in learning has been widely applied. This meta-analysis study was conducted to examine the “Hawthorne effect”, or the novelty of using mathematical software in learning. Related databases are sought for studies that qualify for examining the effects of using mathematical software compared to traditional teaching on students’ mathematical abilities. Random-effect models with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated. 40 effect sizes were analyzed from 40 primary studies that have been published in journals, or national and international proceedings from 2010 to 2020, and a total of 3072 students were included in this meta-analysis. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) program is used to assist analysis. As a result of the study, the overall effect size was 0.886 with a standard error of 0.092. The results of the follow-up analysis showed that the duration of the treatment was related to the use of mathematical software. It was found that the use of mathematical software given in the span of 0 - 4 weeks (effect size = 1.193) was more effective if carried out in more than 4 weeks (effect size = 0.535). Thus the Hawthorne effect influences the effectiveness of the use of mathematical software on students’ mathematical abilities. This fact is considered by education practitioners in using mathematical software in the future.
<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hambatan mahasiswa dalam belajar mata kuliah program linear. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskritif kualitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan matematika STKIP Siliwangi Bandung yang mengikuti mata kuliah program linear. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika STKIP Siliwangi Bandung yang mengikuti mata kuliah program linear pada semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 semester 4. Untuk memperoleh data penelitian digunakan instrumen berupa tes diagnostik dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian didapat kesimpulan: (i) tingkat kemampuan mahasiswa awal pembelajaran masih level rendah; (ii) kesalahan mahasiswa pada umunya belum memahami soal dan prakonsep masih rendah; (iii) mahasiswa belum tertanam rasa belajar secara mandiri. Adapun solusi untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut melalui latihan atai drill soal secara terstruktur dan memberikan soal yang beragam sebagai bahan untuk berlatih. Dosen mencoba menggunakan metode yang berbeda setiap pertemuan di kelas agar mahasiswa tidak mudah jenuh dan berlatih berpikir solusi terhadap persoalan program linear.</p><p> </p>
