In this paper, we give the first examples of connected Polish groups that have ample generics, answering a question of Kechris and Rosendal. We show that any Polish group with ample generics embeds into a connected Polish group with ample generics and that full groups of type III hyperfinite ergodic equivalence relations have ample generics. We also sketch a proof of the following result: the full group of any type III ergodic equivalence relation has topological rank 2.
In [M2], Moore characterizes the amenability of automorphism groups of countable ultrahomogeneous structures by a Ramsey-type property. We extend this result to automorphism groups of metric Fraïssé structures, which encompass all Polish groups. As an application, we prove that amenability is a G δ condition.
Abstract. We extend Ahlbrandt and Ziegler's reconstruction results ([AZ]) to the metric setting: we show that separably categorical structures are determined, up to bi-interpretability, by their automorphism groups.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
