<span>Ranking function is a predictive algorithm that is used to establish a simple ordering of documents according to its relevance. This step is critical because the results’ quality of a Domain Specific Information Retrieval (IR) such as Hadith Information Retrieval is fundamentally dependent of the ranking function. A Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Controller of <em>Mamdani</em>-type Fuzzy Inference System has been built to define the ranking function, based on the Malay Information retrieval’s BM25 Model. The model examines three-inputs (Ontology BM25 Score, Fabrication Rate of Hadith and Shia Rate of Hadith) and four-output values of Final Ranking Score which consist of three triangular membership functions. The proposed system has outperformed the BM25 original score and the Vector Space Model (VM) on 16 queries, while the BM25 original score and Vector Space Model only yield better result in 9 and 2 queries respectively on the P@10, %no measures and MAP. P@10 represent the values of Precision at Rank 10 P@10), %no measures represent the percentage of queries with no relevant documents in the top ten retrieved and MAP represents Mean Average Precision of the queries. The results show the proposed system have capability to demote negative documents and move up the relevant documents in the ranking list and its capability to recall unseen document with the application of ontology in text retrieval. For the future works, the researcher would like to apply the usage of other Malay Semantic elements and another corpus for positive ranking indicator.</span>
This study was designed to investigate the use pattern of oral phosphodiesterase Type 5 inhibitors in Jeddah, SA. All participants (n = 500) above 18 years who sought oral phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors from community pharmacies were included in this study. Questionnaires were distributed to a 100 community pharmacies and a computer program was used for data analysis. Of the 500 distributed questionnaires, 337 were received (response rate 67.4%), it was found that 270 (80%) of the respondents had been taking anti-erectile dysfunction drugs without consultation with their doctors and 67 (20%) of respondents had been using their drugs after consultation. The majority of the respondents, 188 (55.7%) had been using phosphodiesterase Type 5 without any medical evidence of Erectile Dysfunction as indicated by themselves, which is statistically significant (p ≤ 0.005). It was found that 115 (34.1%) of the respondents were not aware of the side effects. The correlation between satisfaction of sexual performance before and after using is (rho. = 0.516) and is highly significant (p < 0.001). There is an obvious misuse of oral phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors in the Jeddah community.
The current article surveyed the tradition of memorizing hadith via subjects which are taught to the students apart from the course of hadith in the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The objective of the study is to expose the importance of hadith memorization among students in Islamic Studies who are not majoring in hadith. The form of the study is an overview and introduction on the hadith memorization subject in terms of the quantity of the learned hadith, and the memorized hadith, as well as the courses involved in the hadith memorization, alongside the scoring of hadith memorization which are assessed in the tutorial tests and final semester examinations. Besides, this study also viewed a few general comparisons on the focus and application of the hadith memorization system specifically in Malaysian universities. The study used field study method in obtaining the data, specifically data was collected via interviews and library researchof related literatures. The results of the study found that memorizing hadith is emphasized among the students in the course of Islamic Studies in the Islamic University of Madinah to the extent that it is made a compulsory subject for the students who are not majoring in hadith course. The study also found that the tradition of memorizing hadith is necessary to be emphasized among students of Islamic Studies generally as a preparation in mastering the Syara’ (Islamic laws) postulates and not to be restricted only to students of Hadith and Al-Quran.
