This paper proposes a new wide-band phase shifter for mmWave phased array applications. The proposed phase shifter is compact and has both a low absolute insertion loss and low insertion loss variation. The wide-band frequency characteristics is obtained by simple but effective matching technique. The phase shifter is based on loading a CPW line with a high dielectric constant BLT ceramic. For a sample with a length of 4mm, a phase shift of 360º at 33 GHz is obtained while the average insertion loss is less than 1.4dB for a bandwidth of more than 20 GHz.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
