In this paper, a fault tolerant control method based on the parametric estimation is presented and applied to the air path system of a diesel engine. This method uses directly the results of a parametric estimation of the system which is nonlinear and whose state variables and parameters are strongly coupled. Our goal is to adapt an Unconstrained Nonlinear Continuous-time Generalized Predictive Control (NCGPC) after detecting clearly, through a parametric variation, a fault occurred on a nonlinear model of Turbocharged Diesel Engine (TDE) published in the literature. Likewise, we will build a control strategy called Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) with which all detected dysfunctions and parametric variations will be taken into account.I.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
