The article discusses the evolution of the concept of digital competence, its key components, characteristics, levels, types, approaches to assessment. The mutual influence of the development of digital competence of personnel and the evolution of the personnel function of the organization, as well as their influence on the criteria for the effectiveness of digital transformations of an innovative industrial enterprise, is analyzed. Approaches to improving methods for evaluating and developing digital competency are proposed.
