Petroleum refinery is an industrial process plant where crude oil is being transformed and refined into most useful products. In the industrial process, it involves a lot of complicated physical and chemical processes that are sequentially applied for various refinery processes. Some employees are facing a difficulty to understand the training module because the tools being used limits the ability to learn and understand the abstract complex process and face the challenges to visualize the content as it is viewed via a two-dimensional (2D) method. Therefore, this paper tries to focus the attention on the practical use of AR in the crude oil refinery process, describing the potential and the effectiveness of this technology to enhance their visualization skill. The study used quasi-experimental research design on the technical employees that were trained on the basic refinery process of crude oil. Two groups of samples consist of an experimental group who were exposed to the AR environment and a control group that was taught using conventional training methods. The result demonstrated there is a significant difference between the scores obtained by the technical employees in the experimental group, thus the application of AR was able to enhance technical employees' visualization skills as a training approach.
Two basic characteristics characterize autism spectrum disorder: a difficulty in social communication and the prevalence of repetitive activities and/or restricted interests. The most frequently cited explanation for insufficient social contact or skill development is a lack of social cognition. Numerous interventions have been utilized to help children with this issue, including social storytelling, scheduled physical exercise programs, and peer-mediated intervention. Typically, interventions are performed in a clinical setting by experts such as occupational therapists. However, research indicates that parents' involvement has a significant contribution to helping children to improve their children's social interactions and skills, particularly those with an autistic spectrum disorder. Thus, this study emphasizes social interaction intervention, its benefits, and the involvement of parents in social interaction intervention with autistic children. According to the previous research, early learning experiences through early intervention with the social contract approach significantly enhance development progress among ASD Children. Autistic children's behavior may improve with parental involvement in the intervention, and it may also reduce parenting stress because of improved behavior.
Recently, there has been a surge of interest for students to use technology while engaging in their learning. Augmented reality is one of the technologies found suitable for use in the educational field, such as in science, mathematics, and engineering. However, it is not yet being explored in the Microeconomics course. Therefore, this study investigated the effectiveness of using augmented reality, namely Augmented Reality Mobile Learning in Microeconomic courses (ARMLAAPPS). This study used a quasi-experimental design, and two groups were involved: the control and experimental groups. They are undergoing teaching and learning sessions using ARMLAAPPS and conventional teaching methods. This study indicates that students in the experimental group showed a significantly higher visualization skills level than those in the control group after teaching and learning. Besides, this study also found that ARMLAAPPS can assist in highlighting student-centered learning, stimulating student interest and curiosity, increasing student cognitive, affective, and psychomotor processes, and increasing student involvement in the information-seeking process. Educators are suggested to use augmented reality in their teaching and learning since it has effectively enhanced students’ visualization skills and promoted a better understanding of knowledge.
