In this paper we present a parallel algorithm to solve the thresholding problem by using Membrane Computing techniques. This bio-inspired algorithm has been implemented in a novel device architecture called CUDA TM , (Compute Unified Device Architecture). We present some examples, compare the obtained time and present some research lines for the future.
In this paper, we propose a bio-inspired membrane computational framework for constructing discrete Morse complexes for binary digital images. Our approach is based on the discrete Morse theory and we work with cubical complexes. As example, a parallel algorithm for computing homology groups of binary 3D digital images is designed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
