The relationship between consumers' decision-making styles and their choice between domestic and imported brand clothing is investigated using a sample of Indian consumers. The objective of this paper is to gauge the factors affecting purchase decision taking gender perspective as base. Empirical findings are calculated using survey technique and chi square test with a sample of 320 participants in Delhi and NCR. The objective of this paper is to analyze the significance of demographic profile of consumers affecting the purchase decision of branded garments and to observe from gender perspective the consumer awareness about different apparel brands available in the Indian market and also to find out whether there is a significant difference in total expenditure on branded apparels done by males vis-a -vis females. The results exhibit no significant differences in the brand awareness, shopping frequency and shopping expenditure between males and females.
Consumer market for fashion apparel has become more varied by in surge of designer brands, store brands, personalisation, customs and advertisement in the global market place of today. A clear understanding of preferences of consumers will help the marketer to attract and maintain their target consumer group. The purpose of this study is to examine Indian female consumers buying behaviour and deeply understand the key factors of branded clothing which influence female consumers' involvement towards stylish branded clothing. It was found in the study that there is a complete awareness of the branded apparels amongst females and their shopping behaviour reflect that they buy these products occasionally. Females have particular perspectives and motives behind their purchases. The culture is shifting towards buying from the malls because of shopping experience the consumers get. The most important source of information was found to be family and friends followed by internet and advertisement. It is observed in the study that Price, Fitting, Income Level of consumers are significant factors and some factors which are found to be insignificant are Status, Durability, and celebrity endorsement, hence can be ignored by the apparel retailers in their efforts to tap and capture the market. As a retailer of apparels, all these insights have to be embedded in the policy formulation to make the purchases a real time customer delight.
In the post-liberalisation period, changes in the consumer purchase behaviour are seen with growing liberalisation, rise in per capita income, GDP and explosion of brands. This rise in large base of consumers has been an attraction for big global retailers and major domestic corporate sector to invest in modern retail sector in India. This unprecedented rise in multiple brands has given Indian consumers a wider choice of products and ample opportunities to take advantage of in the present scenario. The retail industry is expected to grow at a rate of 14% by 2013. The first step towards allowing Foreign Direct Investment in Retail was taken in the year 2006. Subsequently the government of India has allowed 100% FDI in single brand retail to give consumers greater access to foreign brands, with the ongoing debate whether it should be allowed in multi-brand retail or not. With emergence of new ways like E-retailing, Indian retail sector is growing at a faster rate along with the employment potential. The retail landscape is showing a marked change, along with changes in the strategies of retailers towards the suppliers so as to get the best advantage. With the rapidly changing retail scene, India is soon going to be one of the fastest growing regions having great potential. The objective of the present paper is to analyse the impact of the present retail FDI policy on Indian consumers and economy using SWOT analysis. The analysis reveals that it will have a positive impact on the growth of Indian economy as a whole.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used very pervasively with the ever-evolving and competitive business world and has become the 21st-century buzzword. Countless innovations in technology have pushed businesses to make their value creation processes more effective and customer friendly. Digitization has played a significant role in reshaping the different human resource functions and processes. This study aims to elucidate the acceptance of automation in human resource management by employers and the degree to which recruiters can use AI to hire people. The study incorporates a thematic analysis approach, and the data is collected from primary sources by conducting semi-structured interviews with four experts working in IT organizations. This research would be useful for recruiters and HR managers to consider the fields of AI implementation and management to take advantage of cost-cutting technical developments.
