This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study, conducted in a center of Hypertension and Metabolism, which aimed to identify adherence to drug therapy in hypertensive patients, and to identify the factors, directly related to the patient, associated with this adherence. The sample consisted of 77 patients and the instrument used to verify patient compliance was the Measure of Adherence to Treatment and a semi-structured questionnaire consisting of factors for non-adherence to drug treatment. The results showed adherence of 87% of hypertensive patients. Factors directly related to the patient, which were associated with the adherence, were: the place of origin; patients' self-assessment of blood pressure levels; willingness to abandon treatment and patient acceptance of the disease.
Objective: To identify in the literature the complications related to physiological changes of the patient, the multidisciplinary team and the use of equipment during the intrahospital transport of critically ill patients. Methods: Integrative review of literature, through a search in the databases of PubMED, MEDLINE, and LILACS. Results: We encountered 20 articles, all written in the English language. Studies have shown that changes in arterial pressure and heart rate are most common during transport. Of the adverse events related to problems with the team, the lack of knowledge of the professional and failure of communication stood out, apart from those derived from equipment used. Conclusion: Transporting the critically ill patient safely requires improving communication between teams, standardizing the actions and equipment used by means of protocols, and identifying opportunities to obtain excellence in service during transport. Objective: To develop and validate an informative booklet on bed bath for coronary patients. Method: The informative booklet was developed based on the experience of researchers and literature. The booklet was subjected to content validation for ten nurses, using the Delphi technique. The final version of the booklet has been validated with 35 patients admitted to the coronary care unit and who had experienced at least once the bed bath, using Likert scale. Results: The informative booklet was developed containing information about bed bath and the reasons that patients need this procedure. In the first phase were required four rounds to obtain consensus among nurses. In the second phase, it was observed that the average of the responses were above 4, thus, the booklet was considered as validated. Conclusion: This study developed and validated an informative booklet on bed bath for coronary patients.
Studies like this are relevant to clinical practice because they evaluate the adequacy of Taxonomy II for patients under mechanical ventilation in clinical practice, thus allowing for the intensive care nurses to go from one mechanical and routine practice to a critical, reflexive practice, committed to professional progress.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
