Innovation learning material with problem based approach is beliefed to be applicable to improve students' competence as required by the Implementation of Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia, KKNI) curriculum on the teaching of Physical Chemistry. This research aimed to develop an innovative learning material with problem based approach to be used as a learning resources to improve students competence on Physical Chemistry. The research is conducted in Department of Chemistry Universitas Negeri Medan. The steps to be followed are including enriching of chemistry learning material on Physical Chemistry, setting the chemistry material in problem based approach, integration of laboratory experiment and learning activities, and implementation of innovative learning material in the class. The results obtained in the study has provided a standard and innovative learning package that are designed in problem based approach has been developed successfully that is suited to the KKNI curriculum. The problem based approach provided in the learning material is found to be able to guide the students to learn independently in Physical Chemistry. The students are found be able to construct the relationship between chemistry concept with daily life application. Integration of multimedia in the learning material has motivated the students to learn the topics and Physical Chemistry easy to learn. Innovative learning material has been proven to be able to improve students' competence since they are forced to do the work independently. The facility available in a learning package has adequate to guide the student for self learning.
This research aims to determine the feasibility level of interactive learning media using lectora inspire material solubility and solubility product which was developed based on the BSNP standard integrated interactive media. This type of research uses the Research and Development (R & D) method with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The instrument used is an interactive media integrated BSNP questionnaire given to one lecturer of technology science, one lecturer of chemistry education, and one high school chemistry teacher. The data was processed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that interactive learning media using lectora inspire material solubility and solubility product which was developed was very feasible to use reffering to the BSNP standard integrated interactive media with content feasibility of 4.8, and presentation feasibility of 4.9. This research was carried out only until the development stage.
The Crinum plant varieties found, called "Ompu-ompu", identified as a type of Crinum asiaticum-L which used as a drug. The antioxidant, toxicity and antibacterial of the Crinum leaves and bulbs extracted with ethanol and treated by DPPH (2-2 diphenyl 1-1-picrylhydrazyl) method, Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method, and diffusion method respectively. It was found that both the leaves and bulbs have an antioxidant site with 54.21 ppm and 33.79 ppm respectively through IC50 test 25.8 ppm which used vit.C as a control. Furthermore, it was found that their toxicity measured by LD50 is 243.331 and 507.838 respectively. In addition, the antibacterial test showed that the widest inhibition of the leaves and bulbs are 15.7 mm and 12.4 mm against Escherichia coli respectively and 12.3 mm and 11.5 mm against Staphylococcus aureus. Phytochemical screening indicated the presence of alkaloids, flavonoid, saponins and tannins.
Investigation of the impact multimedia-based off-line learning towards student motivation and outcomes was carried out based on ADDIE model, and the 2013 vocational high school curriculum content standards. It was found that the implementation of the multimedia was highly usefull as a learning device. The population of this study were students of grade XI of a vocational high school 1 in Percut Sei Tuan, Medan Indonesia. The sample selected was 2 classes of the grade XI and classified into experimental and controlled groups which consisted of 36 students respectively. The experimental group was taught by the MAOL and the controlled group taught by web-based adobe flash-based instruction (WAFI) learning approaches. Instruments used to collect data student motivation and outcomes were questionnaires and achievement tests respectively. The Data collected were analyzed with SPSS softwares. The results showed that the student motivation and achievements of the experimental group were significantly higher than the controlled group on the subject of acid and base solutions, with a significance level of 5% (with the criteria of Sig <α value is 0.001 < 0.05) ; Furthermore, there was a positive correlation between motivation and student outcomes at a significance level of 5%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
