This report, prefaced by a brief history of Pluscarden Priory, and by a description of the church, describes excavations on the western side of the Priory. Features investigated include the western end of the nave, a
series of burials, a stone-lined pit containing a rich organic deposit, and walls associated with the medieval monastic complex. The excavation was arranged and funded by Historic Scotland.
