The article substantiates the quantity and type of tire size for a dump truck with a carrying capacity from 90 to 130 tons. Types of tire sizes for dump trucks are given, as well as an analysis of applicable tires for dump trucks. An example of tire configuration for a dump truck is described, as well as the differences between projects and dump trucks with the traditional arrangement of large tires. The working productivity of large tires was cal- culated using the TKH “tons per kilometer per hour” technique. The general tasks that need to be addressed when designing a dump truck are highlighted. The conclusion is made on the relevance of the development of scientifically based approaches when designing dump trucks. The above data indicate that when surface mining, it is possible to solve the economic problem of reduc- ing the operating costs of transporting minerals by applying the proposed arrangement and number of large tires when designing new dump trucks, including robotic and unmanned ones.
Vehicle costs for rock mass transportation are more than 50% of total costs, among which 25 — 30% are tire costs. The average tire life in mining enterprises is lower than that the value recommended by production plants. The tire life of open-pit dump trucks is more dependent on the normal load on the wheel. The main factor in the change of the normal load is location of the wheel on the dump truck and the open-pit road’s section. Determination of the maximum loaded tire in different operating conditions will allow increasing the tire life and preventing its premature failure. The TKPH index (tire performance) recommended by tire manufacturers does not take into account the diversity of mining conditions and variations of sections of open-pit roads on different routes. The average load per trip is defined as movement of a loaded open-pit truck and an empty open-pit truck on a straight reach of a road. The proposed method for recording of redistribution of the load on the wheel allows making adjustments to recording of TKPH indexes and thereby effectively managing the tire life, which in turn will make it possible to more fully use the tire life, increase its reliability and reduce the cost of rock mass transportation.
More than 50-60% of minerals in Russia and the CIS countries are mined in an open-pit or in mining quarry, as it is the most economical and productive. JSC "CC Kuzbassrazrezugol" ranks second in terms of total coal production among the regions of the Russian Federation and first in Kuzbass. Quarry dump trucks are the main mode of technological transport when transporting mined rock. An important task facing road transport is to reduce the cost of transported products. The components of the costs include fuel, tires, maintenance and repair, maintenance of roads and others. It is possible to reduce tires costs by controlling tires life. Most often, thermal damage causes the emergency decommissioning of tires. It is possible to maintain the optimal temperature regime of quarry dump truck tires with the help of operating modes such as load capacity utilization factor and speed, as well as operating conditions such as ambient temperature and longitudinal slope of the road. In turn, the performance of quarry dump trucks directly depends on the operating modes. On the one hand, the growing utilization factor of load capacity and speed increase the productivity of quarry dump trucks, but at the same time this increases the temperature regime and reduces their reliability. This article proposes a methodology for determining the maximum productivity of quarry dump trucks operated in CC Kuzbassrazrezugol taking into account the temperature regime of tires.
Rock mass transportation costs account for more than 50% of the total costs including the tire costs of 25 to 30%. The average tire life at mining companies is less than what is recommended by the manufacturing plants. Mining truck tire service life is largely dependent on the normal wheel load. The key point in the normal load configuration is the wheel location on the dump truck and the profile of the quarry road. Determination of the most loaded tires in various operating conditions will lead to an incre ase in the tire service life and prevent early failure. The ton km per hour indicator (tire operating performance) proposed by tire manufacturers does not consider the various mining conditions and profiles options for the of open pit roads on different routes. The average load per trip is determined as the movement of a loaded and empty dump truck along a straight road section.
