This work presents an analysis of existing dialogues between teaching, learning and the school environment, in order to identify how they can contribute to the approach of chemical contents. The research, of an exploratory bibliographic nature, counted on the analysis of books, articles, theses and works of events, in order to obtain relevant points about the topics addressed. Chemistry contents are considered by students as difficult to understand because they present abstract concepts and have their own language involving symbols and formulas, and it is necessary to identify ways to change reality and make teaching of chemical concepts more effective. As a result, we highlight the relevance of associating the concepts to the students' daily life, involving the previous knowledge they bring and the use of appropriate teaching methodologies, in order to motivate and give meaning to the contents presented.
AbstractThe article presents a pedagogical proposal involving a periodic table applied in classes of the ninth grade of elementary school, using varied didactic resources with playful characteristics and that allow an active participation of students, in order to facilitate the presentation of Research, Society and Development, v. 9, n. 3, e147932552, 2020 (CC BY 4.0) | ISSN 2525-3409 | DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.33448/rsd-v9i3.2552 2 abstract and symbolic concepts of chemistry, favoring their understanding by the students. The activity was developed in two stages, with the first employing the stimulated memory technique to identify students' knowledge about the presence of chemical elements in their daily lives, involving their names, symbols and physical state, and the second presenting the periodic table a from the use of comic books and research activity. It involved a case study, with the form of data collection being the recording of classes, the production of material by students and the teacher's class diary. The activities were well accepted by the students, allowing the socialization of ideas and knowledge, with the active participation of the classes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
