This observational study used data collected with a SODAR wind profiler that can perform measurements from November to April 2023. The analysis sought to analyze occurrences of magnitudes in the vertical wind profile greater than 10 ms-1. The magnitude value with the highest value recorded above 200 meters was 16.1 ms-1, and 90% of the observations occurred between 36 and 60 degrees. We can conjecture that, comparing numerical simulations of the vertical profile of the wind heights of around 600 meters with maximums of this order, the simulations do not have the resolution and accuracy of the SODAR measurements. In this aspect, as there is seasonal variability in wind intensity in the Alcântara region from August to October, it is expected that there will be records of above 20 ms-1 between vertical levels of 100 to 600 meters over the region of the Alcântara Launch Center.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
