This study was conducted to determine the effect of row spacing (40, 60 and 80 cm) on forage dry matter (DM) yield and quality of four hybrids grown in the years 2001 and 2002. The highest DM yield was obtained from the Arifiye (24.1 and 22.4 t/ha) while the lowest DM yield was obtained from Pioneer 3163 (19.9 and 19.8 t/ha) in the years 2001 and 2002, respectively. As row spacing increased, DM yield as an average of two years decreased from 27.2 to 16.6 t/ha. No differences were found among row spacing for DM content, harvest index (HI) and ear content. As row spacing increased, whole-plant acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) content increased from 214 to 227 g/kg and from 420 to 451 g/kg during the year 2001, respectively. However, ADF content decreased from 281 to 267 g/kg and NDF contents decreased from 530 to 515 g/kg with increasing row spacing during the year 2002. In this study, hybrids showed distinct differences for crude protein, ADF and NDF contents in both years. Forage quality parameter including ADF and NDF of Pioneer 3163, TTM 8119 and Karadeniz Yildizi were higher than Arifiye hybrid.
ÖZ: Proje, çeşit eksikliğini gidermeye katkı sağlamak için Ege Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü'nde yurtiçi ve yurtdışı kaynaklardan temin edilen, çok yıllık baklagil yem bitkilerinden gazal boynuzu türüne ait materyal üzerinde sürdürülen çalışmalar sonucu, ilk ıslah döngüsü tamamlanarak geliştirilen çeşit adaylarının İzmir ve Adana'da bölge verim denemelerine alınarak verim ve uyum performanslarının belirlenmesi amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bölge verim denemeleri tesadüf blokları deneme deseninde çeşit adayları, kontrol çeşitler ve populasyon kullanılarak dört tekerrürlü olarak kurulmuştur. İzmir ve Adana lokasyonlarında iki yıl yürütülen çalışmada; genotiplerin her iki lokasyon ve yıl ortalamalarına göre kuru madde verimlerinin NDF oranlarının % 37,4; ADF oranlarının ise % 29,2 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Tohum verimlerinin 9,[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23]4 kg/da; çimlenme oranlarının % 52,9; 1000 tohum ağırlıklarının 1,04-1,21 g arasında değiştiği saptanmıştır. Kuru madde ve tohum verimleri incelenen çeşit adayları ilk verim gruplarında yer alarak, yüksek verimli, Akdeniz iklim kuşağına uyumlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Gazal boynuzu, ıslah, kuru madde verimi, tohum verimi, kalite, ADF, NDF. ABSTRACT: This project was conducted to test performance of cultivar candidates of legume bird's-foot trefoil developed in the forage crop breeding program of Aegean AgriculturalResearch Institute after completing the first cycle of selection procedures whose base material had been obtained from domestic and foreign sources. Regional yield trials were arranged in randomized complete block design with four replications by using cultivar nominees, check cultivars and population at Izmir and Adana locations and conducted for two years in 2015 and 2016. According to mean yields of trials obtained as both locations and year means, genotypes obtained 6940-9510 kg/ha matter yields,.2 %, ADF ratios while seed yields were 97-234 kg/ha, germination rates were 52.3-67.9%, 1000 seed weights were 1.04-1.21 g. In terms of dry matter and seed yields, the trials showed that variety candidates were found to be high yielding and well adapted to the region, ranking in first yield groups.
