Islamic teachings include principles and applications that directly influenced local Islamic architecture in the past. The principles of privacy, humility, and hospitality are fundamental to these religious guidelines and have had a major impact on the design of Muslim homes, as well as on the regulation of space and social behaviour in these homes. However, Muslims today are very distressed by the recent political and social changes, as well as contemporary ideologies, which are not compatible with Islamic cultural values, and that led to the emergence of some architectural models that contradict Islamic principles and values. This paper reviews the impact of Islamic cultural values on the shape, features, and elements of housing and the relationships between these elements in many Islamic cities with varying environmental conditions. The results of the research showed that religious values are the main pillars of local architecture and that the essence of the architectural product of Islamic societies is the Islamic concept. Despite the different architectural composition and its diversity in Islamic countries as a result of the different environmental conditions surrounding them, there is a common denominator for the diversity of architectural formations and it is the stability of the Islamic concept. The researchers concluded that awareness of Islamic concepts and values while taking into account the changing circumstances surrounding contemporary designs, is important to express the local Islamic identity in ways that meet the needs of modern society.
Motivations are critical factors in understanding tourists’ behaviors in relation to destination choice; they relateto needs, goals, and preferences. Extensive research on this topic has been documented in the literature. However, there are few empirical studies on ecotourist cities in mountainous regions that are facing an increasing number of challenges due to the cost of infrastructure development. Attention to tourists’ motivational factors in ecotourist cities is critical for specifying their needs and preferences when drawing up future urban policies to develop ecotourist areas. In this study, the variables that influence tourists’ motivations, and their likelihood of revisiting those areas, were analyzed. The principal results show the significant role of accommodation locations and marketing in attracting visitors to ecotourist areas. These findings suggest that private and public sectors should invest in tourists’ residential development with a high level of accessibility and views. Moreover, tourist advertisements should be given more attention, especially on social media platforms.
Abstract. Urban population growth, which is associated with a growing prevalence of private car usage, contributes to various contemporary urban issues, including air pollution and fuel costs. The shift of the transportation industry from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles is internationally recognised as an option for addressing these problems and making progress towards more sustainable transport. Makers of electric vehicles have considered many needs of their customers, including locating suitable parking spaces and charging stations. Currently, charging locations and parking spaces can be found with the help of methods based on human intelligence. However, the development of solar parking lots using smart management system is a revolutionary step in this regard, as it provides an optimal solution to internet of things-based (IoT-Based) parking spaces and locating a charging station for electric vehicles. This paper outlines the concept of Eco-parking platforms and discusses their potential implementation in cities. The outcome of this research can inform urban planners and entrepreneurs about how to implement this project and achieve sustainable transport.
