This study assessed the communication skills of the students studying in physical education and sports schools in various universities in Turkey. A total of 1854 Physical Education and Sports students in five Turkish universities participated in the study. The instrument used to gather information for this study comprised the demographic information of participants and Communication Skills Assessment Scale (CSAS) composed of 25 items. The 5 point likert-type scale was developed by Korkut in 1996 and did not include reverse expressive items, and its assessment was carried out by the sum of scores on all items. Görmüş et al in 2003 determined the CSAS cronbach's alpha value as .841 in their study they carried out with the participation of 187 participants. After being transferred to the computer environment, the obtained data were subjected to various statistical processes. Accordingly, distribution analysis of the data was carried out at first and in accordance with the result obtained, parametric statistical applications were initiated. Frequency analysis was used in the assessment of participants' demographic data, t-test was used for the determination of the relationship between gender and variables, one-way analysis of variance was used for the determination of relationship between school, department, grade and age groups with variables, and tukey's test was used for the determination of the fact that from which group was the possible relationship resulted. According to the results, communication skills of the participants were at high level. According to the results obtained in the study, it was observed that, among the participants, 18 Mart University students (X=75,262±10,173) had lower averages on the basis of communication skills compared to the students of Fırat University (X=77,532±10,670), İnönü (X=80,946±9,003) and Kafkas University (X=77,501±17,877). On the other hand, it was seen that Anadolu University students (X=75,181±10,321) had lower average of communication skills compared to the students of Fırat, İnönü and Kafkas Universities, and Fırat University students had lower averages compared to İnönü University students.
Aim: In this study, it was aimed to investigate that anxiety of Swimmers about contracting new type of Coronavirus (Covid19). Method: Swimmers in active state in Turkish Swimming Federation participated in this study. The participants of this research consist of 247 female and 203 male swimmers (450 in total) who are in active state in Turkish Swimming Federation. In this study, “Personal Info Questionare” and “Anxiety of atheletes for contracting new type of Coronavirus (Covid-19) scale” developed by Demir et al. (2020) were used as data collection tool. Results: Differences between sex and personal anxiety sub-dimension and general differences were determined. Differences between in personal anxiety and anxiety regarding socializing both in sub-scale and overall were determined. There is no difference reported according to factors such as financial status based on minimum wage, having a chronic disease, the best swimming style, making practice at home during pandemic. Conclusion: It was concluded that, swimmers have higher level of anxiety of contracting new type of Coronavirus (Covid-19) than the medium level in this study.
Araştırmada elit yüzme sporcularının egzersiz bağımlılığı düzeylerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya lisansı olan sporcular katılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu Türkiye Yüzme Federasyonu'nda aktif durumda olan 82 kadın, 55 erkek, toplamda 137 elit sporcudan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada ''Kişisel Bilgi Formu'' ve Demir, Hazar ve Cicioğlu (2018) tarafından geliştirilen ''Egzersiz Bağımlılığı Ölçeği'' veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada sporcuların yaşı ile bireysel-sosyal ihtiyaçların ertelenmesi ve çatışma alt boyutu arasında negatif yönde orta düzeyde anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan sporcuların yüzme stilleri ile egzersiz bağımlılığı düzeyleri arasındaki farklılık incelendiğinde sırt üstü yüzen katılımcıların serbest ve kurbağalama yüzen katılımcılara oranla egzersiz bağımlılığı puanlarının daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet, spor yaşı ve egzersiz yapma sıklığı ile egzersiz bağımlılığı alt boyutları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Araştırmada elit yüzme sporcularının egzersiz bağımlılığı düzeylerinin bağımlı grupta yer aldığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
This study is performed with 176 academicians working in the institutions related to physical education and sports at universities. It aims to analyze organizational citizenship behaviours of academic personnel about the institutions they have been working in. Descriptive survey model was used, along with demographic data like gender, marital status, academic title. "Organizational Citizenship Behaviour" scale developed by Özaslan et al. and consisting of 21 expressions was used as data collection tool to determine organizational citizenship behaviour of people. Spearman's Correlation coefficient was calculated for the relation between scale scores in the analysis of data. In the analysis of 3 and more groups of Normally Distributed variables ANOVA test was applied. To compare 2 groups of variables which do not come from Normal Distribution in terms of scale score Mann-Whitney U test was used and to compare 3 and more groups of variables in terms of scale scores, Kruskal-Wallis H tests were used. At the end of the research, organizational citizenship behaviour of the participants and the averages related to its dimension were above normal. As a result of additionally made multi comparisons, although a significant result was not obtained between the organizational citizenship behaviour of the participants and its dimension in statistical level according to the working period in the institution, the ages, the marital status and the academic titles of the participants, several significant results were reached statistically according to their genders and administrative position in the institution.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversitelerin spor bilimleri alanında öğrenim gören öğrencilerin umut düzeylerinin çeşitli sosyodemografik özellikler açısından incelenerek, farklılıkların ortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Gazi Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi ile Kafkas Üniversitesi Sarıkamış Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu' nda öğrenim gören öğrenciler (97 kız ve 102 erkek) oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, Synder ve arkadaşları (1991) tarafından geliştirilen ve Akman ve Korkut (1993) tarafından Türkçe' ye uyarlanan Umut Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 22 paket programından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada sonuç olarak; beden eğitimi öğretmenliği, spor yöneticiliği ve antrenörlük eğitimi bölümlerinde okuyan öğrencilerin cinsiyet değişkenine göre umut düzeylerinde bir farklılık bulunamazken, bölüm, sınıf ve aile gelir durumlarına göre aralarında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
