Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Formulasi dan Uji Stabilitas Fisik Sediaan Gel Ekstrak Daun Alpukat (Persea americana. Mill). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formula yang paling baik dari sediaan gel ekstrak daun alpukat dengan variasi basis HPMC, meliputi evaluasi sediaan gel yang dilakukan dengan pengamatan organoleptis, pengamatan homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, pengukuran viskositas dan pengujian cycling test. Formulasi dan Uji Stabilitas Fisik Sediaan Gel Ekstrak Daun Alpukat (Persea americana. Mill) dilakukan tiga formula dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi HPMC yaitu 15%, 20% dan 25%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga jenis sediaan berwarna merah kecoklatan, memiliki bau khas mawar, dan memiliki bentuk semisolid kental. Homogenitas ketiga jenis sediaan yaitu homogen. Daya sebar basis HPMC 15% yaitu 6,43 cm, HPMC 20% yaitu 5,01 dan HPMC 25% yaitu 4,04. pH dari ketiga jenis sediaan yaitu 6. Pengujian viskositas basis HPMC 15% yaitu 280,8 dPa.s, HPMC 20% yaitu 494,93 dPa.s dan HPMC 25% yaitu 653,07 dPa.s dan pengujian cycling test yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada ketiga jenis sediaan gel.
Daun pala (Myristica fragrans Houtt.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan kedalam bentuk sediaan gel hand sanitizer. Persyaratan yang harus dipenuhi untuk sediaan gel salah satunya adalah sifat fisiknya. Gelling agent dan humektan merupakan faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi sifat fisik sediaan gel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi HPMC (Hidroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose) dan gliserin terhadap sifat fisik sediaan gel hand sanitizer ekstrak etanol daun pala. Gel hand sanitizer ini dibuat formulasi dengan variasi HPMC dan gliserin, yaitu formula 1 (HPMC 1% : gliserin 5%), formula 2 (HPMC 1,5% : gliserin 7,5%), formula 3 (HPMC 2%, gliserin 10%). Evaluasi yang dilakukan terhadap sediaan meliputi, uji homogenitas, uji organoleptik, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan One Way Anova dengan program SPSS for Windows, menunjukan bahwa HPMC dan gliserin mempengaruhi parameter daya sebar dan daya lekat sediaan gel hand sanitizer ekstrak etanol daun pala (Myristica fragrans Houtt.).
Fortification of compounds that contain functional components can improve product quality without affecting the product characteristics in the storage. This study evaluated the effect of supplementing Moringa leaf powder (0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0% w/w) and different storage periods (0, 7, and 14 days) on the quality of goat milk kefir. The observed parameters were microbiological characteristics (total lactic acid bacteria (LAB), total plate count or TPC, total yeast) chemical characteristics (total solids, acidity, pH, alcohol level, free fatty acid (FFA)), fatty acid profiles, and antioxidant properties (total phenol and DPPH). The result showed that Moringa leaf powder supplemented into kefir increased acidity, total phenol, and DPPH and decreased the alcohol level. Storage time decreased TPC, total yeast, and total solids but increased alcohol, total phenol, and DPPH. We also identified 31 fatty acids. Supplementing 2% Moringa leaf powder combined with 14-day storage can produce ± twice as much total phenol and DPPH as those in the control group and does not negatively affect the quality of the kefir product.
The use of herbal medicines in Indonesia has been going on for thousands of years, before modern medicines were discovered and marketed. Traditional medicine is an ingredient or ingredients derived from plants, animals, minerals, sarian (galenic) preparations or mixtures of these materials, which for generations have been used for treatment based on experience. Indonesian traditional medicine or native Indonesian medicine, better known as herbal medicine, is generally a mixture of herbal medicines, which are medicines derived from plants. Plant parts that are used can be in the form of roots, stems, leaves, tubers or maybe all parts of the plant. In connection with the source and quality of raw materials for herbal medicines, effectiveness and safety are important roles in controlling the quality of herbal medicine formulations. Thick extracts or extracts derived from natural ingredients before being processed into herbal products must also meet the applicable quality requirements, such as lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) contamination. Lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) heavy metal contamination can occur in herbal medicinal products. The analytical method used to determine levels of lead and cadmium contamination must be validated. This study aims to validate the analysis method the levels of lead and cadmium heavy metal contamination in herbal medicine preparations in the City of Tasikmalaya. Sample preparation uses the wet destruction method using a variety of HNO3: H2O2 (3: 1) oxidizers, HNO3 : H2SO4 (3: 1) and HNO3 : HCl (3: 1). After obtaining the optimum destructive tools and processes, an analysis method was validated for the determination of levels of lead and cadmium contamination with Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) which included linearity, detection limits, quantification limits, precision and accuracy.
Salah satu tanaman yang secara empiris dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai perawatan rambut adalah pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) dan pegagan (Centella asiatica). Produk kosmetik di pasaran kebanyakan berasal dari produk sintetis berpotensi menyebabkan efek samping seperti pruritus dan iritasi lokal. Bentuk sediaan hair tonik dipilih karena sediaan ini cocok untuk penggunaan topikal pada rambut, lebih mudah pengaplikasiannya dan tidak lengket dibandingkan dengan sediaan semisolid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji stabilitas sediaan hair tonic kombinasi ekstrak pandan wangi dan herba pegagan. Formula kombinasi yang digunakan yaitu perbandingan pandan wangi dan pegagan F 1 (kontrol), F II (2:3), F III (2,5:2,5), F IV (3:2). Pengujian stabilitas secara cycling test menunjukan secara oranoleptik semua formula baik, nilai uji pH antara 5,57-6,16, nilai uji viskositas 2,63-2,83 cps. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa semua formula kombinasi ekstrak pandan wangi dan herba pegagan memenuhi uji stabilitas
