Purpose of the study: This study aimed to understand the meaning perception of hope and optimism about the future of Islam in Indonesia. Methodology: The study used discourse analysis, the collection of data obtained through observation, in-depth interview and documentation. Main Findings: Results of the study showed confidence in the future of Indonesian Islam is based on optimism. Applications of this study: the research has done in pesantren Tarbiyatut Tholabah Kranji. The participant of the study was a student of pesantren (santri) as well as the student of Islamic higher education, IAI Tarbiyatut Tholabah. Novelty/Originality of this study: The strong optimism on the future of Indonesian Islam supported by a moderate Islamic view is always responsive to changes in society.
Economic needs urge the men as breadwinners to become migrant workers or Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (TKI) in Malaysia, including people in Pangkah Kulon village. This community service aimed at empowering women of the migrant family to manage the family economy, increase their awareness about the potential of seaweed products, and improve their ability to use seaweed products through fieldwork. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was applied in the form of collaboration between researchers and the community to research together, formulates problems, plan actions, and carry out activities continuously. The results showed that the women of migrant workers family gained awareness of the importance of increasing the use of seaweed products into processed materials that have economic value, and the importance of networking in the use of marine products. They also managed to establish a "Jamal Sejahtera" business group with superior production from processed seafood products, namely, shellfish, payus fish and gereh.
Violence and radicalism in the name of religion which leads to terrorism has emerged as a complicated issue in contemporary Indonesian Islam. The emergence and development of radicalism were actually caused by a lack of understanding of the Qur’an. The verse of the Qur’an has been interpreted textually and partially. This, by far, are happened in Paciran Lamongan in the recent years. Reconstruction of understanding verse of the Qur’an on vulnerable communities that is easily affected by movement of Islamic radicalism has been properly carried out, so that it can give a new atmosphere, and it can be the prevention to face the violence movement. Deradicalization of understanding to the Qur’an is a solution-based action to prevent violence and radicalism in the name of religion.
This assistance was carried out in the village of Tenggulun Solokuro Lamongan which was the origin of the Bali bombing bombers I. Although the movement was not visible, the remnants of the jihadist ideology certainly could not just disappear from Tenggulun village. This assistance aims to strengthen literacy regarding moderate Islam in dropout youth from Tenggulun village so that they are fully aware of the importance of peaceful religious knowledge and also an affirmation of the teachings of moderation of Islam as a religion which is rahmatan lil ‘alamin. From the mentoring process, the results show that moderate Islamic thinking is very useful for teens who want to learn peaceful Islam, while according to adolescents dropping out to study moderate Islam is tantamount to studying Islam that is rahmatan lil ‘alamin.
Emphatic engagement in the classroom is feeling of students who perceive connected with their friends in learning activities in the classroom. Emphatic engagement is very important to emerge respect to the others, to be awarded of the diversity in life and to realize and concern to human beings. Empathic engagement can be taught from an early age in primary school students. With the right methods, students in elementary school can have a sense of empathy for the involvement of their friends that it will be very useful to give the best practice to adulthood process. The study aimed to explain how an empathic engagement was taught in primary school students. Emphatic engagement is through teamwork interaction in the classroom. Subjects of the research were students aged 9 years in primary school in Lamongan. The results showed that the teamwork interaction in classroom used by teachers in learning could deliver an empathic engagement. Students with an empathic engagement have awareness to always care for their fellow students and seek to participate in every learning activity in the classroom. Keterlibatan empatik sangat penting untuk memunculkan sikap menghargai terhadap orang lain, untuk dianugerahi keragaman dalam kehidupan dan untuk menyadari serta memperhatikan manusia. Keterlibatan secara empatik dapat diajarkan sejak usia dini pada siswa sekolah dasar. Dengan metode yang tepat, siswa di sekolah dasar dapat memiliki rasa empati atas keterlibatan teman-teman mereka sehingga akan sangat berguna untuk memberikan praktik terbaik untuk proses pendewasaan diri mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana keterlibatan empatik diajarkan pada siswa sekolah dasar. Keterlibatan empatik adalah melalui interaksi kerja tim di kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa berusia 9 tahun di sekolah dasar di Lamongan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi timbal balik di kelas yang digunakan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran dapat memberikan keterlibatan empatik. Siswa dengan keterlibatan empatik memiliki kesadaran untuk selalu peduli terhadap sesama siswa dan berusaha untuk berpartisipasi dalam setiap aktivitas belajar di kelas.
