The study of power has been one of the main features of global politics. It is said that sometimes in the current era, states win the wars by telling a better story instead of the state who has power and can prevail in a battleground. Though India has constantly had several soft power tactics, they had limited success as they were not combined with hard power such as a strong army and developed defense skills, particularly nuclear ability. Nevertheless, the previous decade was an important turning point that showed India’s growing hard power, driven by strong economic growth and vigorous maritime policies, which reinforced its soft power projection. Soft power has come to be one of the foundation stones of the current Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi Doctrine and is an important theme in most of his state visits. This paper analyzes the different soft power components such as civilization and ancient heritage (Buddhism, yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, democracy, and Bollywood used by the Indian governments. Soft power tools have raised importance, mainly as concerns culture and values, which mixed with peaceful policies made for a truly great opportunity of using soft power. The study evaluates India’s soft power assets and liabilities, thus presenting how the state has been trying its best to make better use of its potential to realize the state’s interests. Hence, the research has largely analyzed and described numerous ways in which all over the world states have resorted their selves to soft power in the face of interdependent world order to garner influence and for the attainment of foreign policy objectives which all depend upon state resources that what they have and side by side abilities to mobilize. Technological advancement in the realm of nuclear weapons has emerged as one of the most salient security issues in the context of two South Asian states, India and Pakistan. Newly emerging India-Pakistan animosities, historical and ongoing power progression of New Delhi distresses Pakistan's security framework. India's endurance of military modernization and stronghold of political leadership under Modi in order to seek power status is shaping distrust for Pakistan as both states assume each other as rival neighbours who raise serious concerns. The nuclear arms race and uncertainties in India's nuclear doctrine has triggered Pakistan's assessment of their security paradigm that has added fire to the already existing security dilemma. Thus, demands and acquires the dire need to discuss loopholes which the article explores about India's intentions regarding Pakistan as well as to certain level with China, Nuclearization implications for Pakistan and how Pakistan should overcome it for its deterrence.
This article highlights the aims under Indian Prime Minister Modi concerning to foreign policy of India since 2014. Moreover, it determines those factors that are working as an impetus along with great powers intentions and motives behind them in playing such geostrategic politics in different dimensions, specifically in the nuclear relationship of India and Pakistan. It will also be summarised the assistance and neutrality of Asian power, United States role in South Asia. This paper evaluates the prospects of escalation and de-escalation furthermore as it will discuss the opacity of No First Use, logic and attempt for eradication. This article critically analyses the changing postures in terms of nuclear motivations, the ideology of the Hindutva effect and the comparison of arms and weapons, which are creating risks of miscalculations and essentially at the core of the stability-instability paradox. An attempt is also made to shed light on the core elements that are formulating under Modi.
This paper explores the leadership phenomenon in making foreign policy and in the decision-making process that how does it affect other states. By using leadership theories and idiosyncratic factors which include perceptions of leaders, historical experiences, and ideological orientations all affect the US foreign policy along with it the dynamic geopolitical environment also matters in this regard. The study further argues that how the high-risk situations involve the leader in eliminating obstacles, for example, post 9/11 terrorism climax, Modi recent moves in the region and Trump reaction towards them and as an Asian power what strategies he adopted vis-à-vis Pakistan. In such expected worrisome times this article furthermore highlights the comparative courage, and overview of their approaches that might help in understanding the authoritarian and paternal styles, traits of leadership as an individual.
