The classification of electronic tests that play a significant role in the educational process is given. The characteristics and capabilities of the software for creating tests are described. The levels and corresponding methods of evaluating the effectiveness of the educational process are identified, and the main requirements for the development of Cathedral training tests are established. Criteria for the effectiveness of using training tests on the example of one of the classes are developed. Prospects for e-learning in engineering education are outlined.
