We studied the effect of the factors affecting the recognition of the emotional content of the music. We tested hypotheses about the influence of the valence of the music, ethnic style and the listening experience on the success of music recognition. The empirical study involved 26 Russian musicians (average age of 25,7 years). For the study of musical perception we used bipolar semantic differential. We revealed that the valence of music material affects the recognition of the emotional content of music, and the ethno style does not. It was found that senior students recognize the emotional context of the music more effectively. The results show the universal nature of emotional and musical ear, equally successfully recognizing music of different ethnic style, as well as support the notion of higher significance of negative valence of emotional content in the process of musical perception. A study of factors influencing the emotional understanding of music is important for the development of models of emotion recognition, theoretical constructs of emotional intelligence, and for the theory and practice of music education.
The relevance of the article lies in the need to comprehend at a new level the methods of organizing education at a university in order to actualize the professional and personal reflection of students in the context of the analysis of existing artistic anthropopractics, including in the aspect of personal preferences of cultural and stylistic phenomena. The purpose of the author's scientific and educational project – musical and psychological anthropology – was to create a course and organize the learning process at the humanities faculties of a pedagogical university through self-knowledge of young people in the process of getting education. To organize the process of self-knowledge of students and actualize reflection, a complex of methods of musical-psychological anthropology was developed and tested: analysis of ideal and real artifacts of musical consciousness; analysis of types of musical behavior; analysis of intonation archetypes; case analysis "psychological complex of a modal personality – a carrier of a certain musical style"; analysis of precedent texts of musical culture (generational, ethno-cultural and confessional preferences) and other author's methods. The developed methods constitute a methodological toolkit that is studied and used in the course of musical and psychological anthropology at a university for research and self-understanding of university students (learning through research of self). The generalization of the results allows us to speak about the effectiveness of the approach to the study of the mentality of the implicit social groups of the modern metropolis (Moscow) by studying the musical preferences and value orientations of young people. The general significance of the project of musical-psychological anthropology as a scientific field of knowledge and anthropopractic within the educational process is seen in the creation of conditions for students to acquire "living" new knowledge and to satisfy the need for self-understanding and "care for oneself" (M. Foucault) as a subject of an emerging culture.
The article presents an understanding of the value attitudes and methodological approaches to the construction of the educational discipline “Musical-psychological anthropology”, developed by the author and tested in the educational process at the Faculty of Musical Arts of the Institute of Fine Arts of Moscow Pedagogical State University. The directions of development in the discipline content the ideas and aspirations by E. B. Abdullin are outlined. The connection of the actual problems of pedagogy and psychology of music education with the experience of setting tasks for the project activities of graduate students in the course of Musical-psychological anthropology is shown. Some research results of graduate students which contribute to the development of Music-Psychological Anthropology as an interdisciplinary field and academic discipline at a university, focused on current problems of music education, as well as on the development of professional reflection of music teachers are presented.
The protection and promotion of children's health is not only the focus of health care institutions but the priority of the society, education system and any school of educational institution. We have developed and tested a musical and educational approach to working with children having emotional blocks. This model has been tested at a children's department on children diagnosed with asthma that is classified as an emotional blocked. The selection is composed of three groups. Experimental groups 1 (n=15) and 2 (n=10) are different according to the set of musical activities and time of duration of the program. In the reference group (n=10) there are children who have been under treatment at the same department but without any music classes. The comparison results confirm the effectiveness of combined (medical, musical and educational) rehabilitation of children suffering from asthma (EG-1 and EG-2) in comparison to solely drug treatments (reference indicator: r <0.05). All the methods have a tendency suggesting the effectiveness of the set of measures used for EG-2 in comparison to EG-1 and proving that the longer classes last, the more effective they become. It proves the effectiveness of educational activities in terms of reduction of the general symptoms and factors muscle tension in children suffering from asthma. The experimental work also confirms the real healing effects of music activity with emotional blocked children.
