Nonetheless, India is poised to take advantage of its strengths and overcome these challenges so that it can answer the call to Make in India and promote Brand India.
Oil and gas sector is among the eight core industries in India and plays a major role in influencing decision making for all the other important sections of the economy. The main purpose of the study is to examine the impact of financial leverage on the profitability of reliance industries ltd. The study verifies two hypotheses first is There is no significant relationship between financial leverage with Profitability and Second one There is no significant impact of financial leverage on profitability of Reliance Industries Ltd during the study period. Financial leverage is taken as independent variable and Net Profit Ratio (NPR), Earning per share (EPS), Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Asset (ROA) are taken as dependent variable. The data collected over period of 2016-17 to 2020-21 regarding financial leverage and profitability from annual consolidated financial statement of Reliance Industries Ltd. Correlation is used to know the relationship between financial leverage with Profitability. Linear regression is used to examine the impact of leverage on profitability. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between financial leverage with NPR and significant positive relationship between financial leverage with EPS, ROE and ROA. Regression result shows that there is no significant impact of leverage on profitability of reliance industries ltd during the study period.
Purpose. The purpose of the study is to analyze the holistic performance of NTPC-A Maharatna Company by using balance scorecard to view the effectiveness of NTPC in attaining its core values and business objectives. NTPC has classified their objectives into business performance, financial performance, customer orientation, R&D, performance management and therefore the four perspectives of balance scorecard were ideal to analyze performance measurement and management of NTPC Research Methodology and Approach. The present research uses descriptive and analytical approach of measuring performance of NTPC by using four perspectives of Balance Scorecard namely-financial, customer, internal processes and innovation & learning. The annual reports, financial analyses, financial websites and newspapers are used as a secondary data source to analyze the performance. Findings. It was observed that NTPC has defined its objective statement with utmost clarity to enhance the performance with measurable goal. With the application of balance scorecard it was found that there is a positive association of companies overall objectives with that of its performance. Implications. It would provide a holistic view of the overall performance outcome and an opportunity to increase qualitative and quantitative performance to create more synergy and alignment of strategies with performance management system.

From 2016-17 through 2020-21, the top five listed firms by market capitalization are Reliance Industries Ltd., Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL). Four ratios have been used to evaluate the financial and profitability positions of chosen organizations, including the current ratio, the quick ratio, the net profit ratio, and the return on invested capital. An ANOVA with a 5% threshold of significance was employed to test the hypotheses. The study's main conclusion is that Reliance industries Ltd's liquidity and profitability performance is superior to those of other chosen oil and gas firms.
