This report summarizes the existing information on the water resources in Alaska and describes the availability of surface and ground water and their quality.Climatologic factors and physical features that affect the occurrence of water are also discussed briefly. Data on water resources is deficient ir much of the State; the report presents the available data in a regionalized format. A comprehensive bibliography of reports published on water resources in the State is also included. INTRODUCTION Alaska, largest State of the United States, has a land area of 586,400 square miles. The large land area, small population, and lack of development have caused a lag in obtaining information about water.
