Among the background of the emergence of Sufism is the Muslim struggle against the contestation and power struggle of the Umayyads in the second century Hijri. The problems of power, politics and religious conflicts that gave birth to a pragmatic and materialist attitude by some Muslims were then addressed by some ascetics by voicing an ascetic attitude towards such matters. After developing and splitting into several tarekat, the ideological values of Sufism also changed and shifted and even led to the path of the ideology of Sufism. This shift is what this research wants to uncover, considering how important it is to explain the pure ideology of Sufism by presenting historical and contextual studies as a shield for worldly conflicts and power. By using literature research, this article concludes that the style of Sufi teaching that adheres to the eclecticism model has historical roots as a balance between the profane and the secular. The eclectic Sufi style contains three basic principles of Sufi teachings, namely realizing worldly life as an undeniable reality, spiritual practice rituals such as remembrance and relying on sharia. In addition, Sufi teachings with an eclectic style have a strong level of relevance to religious patterns in Indonesia, the pattern of Sunnī madhhab.
Abstract:The tarekat is not only understood as a spiritual-religious organization, but also a socio-political organization capable of contributing to the nation's sovereignty and independence. This research aims to find and analyze the process of revitalizing the national political values of the QadiriyahwaNaqsyabandiyah order. The method used is studying literature by digging into various references, documentation, and journals that correspond to the topic. From the literature, it was found that the QadiriyahwaNaqsyabandiyahtarekat successfully played its socio-political role to help the People and People of Indonesia get out of the difficulties, sufferings, and tribulations of colonialism. Because its role as social jam'iyah is minimal, so tarekat extends to the religio-political aspect. Then, the process of revitalizing the national political values of the Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah order can be seen from several steps: through the role of the elite of the order, through the religio-political system, relations with political parties, through the synergy between the encouragement of Islamic teachings, the motivation of individuals and groups, and interaction with the outside world, through the function of the order as a religious and social institution. الملخص :ولا يُفهم الأمر على أنه منظمة دينية روحية فحسب، بل هو منظمة اجتماعية وسياسية قادرة على المساهمة في سيادة الأمة واستقلالها. والغرض من هذا البحث هو إيجاد وتحليل عملية تنشيط القيم السياسية الوطنية للرهبانية القادرية والنقشبندية. الطريقة المستخدمة هي دراسة الأدب من خلال البحث في مراجع ووثائق ومجلات مختلفة تتوافق مع الموضوع. وكانت النتيجة أن قامت رهبانية القادرية والنقشبندية بنجاح بدورها الاجتماعي - السياسي لمساعدة شعب وشعب إندونيسيا على الخروج من الصعوبات والمعاناة والمحن التي يعاني منها الاستعمار. دور الجامية الاجتماعية الدينية محدود جداً، لذلك يمتد إلى الجانب التديني والسياسي. ثم يمكن رؤية عملية تنشيط القيم السياسية الوطنية للرهبانية القادرية والنقشبندية من عدة خطوات: من خلال دور نخبة النظام، من خلال النظام التديني - السياسي، والعلاقات مع الأحزاب السياسية، من خلال التآزر بين تشجيع التعاليم الإسلامية، ودوافع الأفراد والجماعات، والتفاعل مع العالم الخارجي، من خلال وظيفة النظام كمؤسسة دينية واجتماعية.Abstrak:Tarekat tidak hanya dipahami sebagai organisasi keagamaan spiritual, semata, namunia sebagai organisasi social politik yang mampu memberikan kontribusi terhadap kedaulatan dan kemerdekaan bangsa. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin menemukan dan menganalisis proses revitalisasi nilai-nilai politik kebangsaan tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan menggali berbagai referensi, dokumentasi, dan jurnal-jurnal yang sesuai dengan topik. Hasil yang ditemukan ialah Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah berhasil memainkan peran sosial politiknya untuk membantu masyarakat dan bangsa Indonesia keluar dari kesulitan, penderitaan dan kesengsaraan akibat penjajahan. Peran sebagai jam’iyah social keagamaan sangat terbatas, sehingga diperluas kepada aspek religio-politik. Kemudian, proses revitalisasi nilai-nilai politik kebangsaan tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah dapat dilihat dari beberapa langkah: melalui peranan elit tarekat, melalui system religio-politik, relasi dengan partai politik, melalui sinergitas antara dorongan ajaran Islam, motivasi individu dan kelompok, dan interaksi dengan dunia luar, melalui fungsi tarekat sebagai lembaga keagamaan dan sosial.
Several years of experience teaching PLPG training for teachers in the Ministry of Religion, especially Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, found the fact that "the teacher" as the essential instrument in the process of teaching and learning activities in the classroom is considered unattractive. Therefore, "teachers" are required to design PAI curriculum development and conduct contextual learning on PAI subjects, to be able to connect the material with real-life students. This study aims to explore the relationship between curriculum development and the improvement of PAI contextual learning. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with a multi-case design carried out at SMPN (Junior High School) 3 Rejoso Darul Ulum and MTsN (Islamic Junior High School) Tambak Beras Jombang. The results showed that; (1) the curriculum development approach commonly referred to and used in both institutions is academic and humanistic. While the technological approach is still unclear. (2) The use of additional PAI literature such as Jurisprudence and Arabic language development, by referring to Fath al-Qarib and Amsilah Tasrifiyah as a form of integration between the formal curriculum in schools and the boarding school curriculum. (3) Factually it can be stressed that the process of curriculum development can increase the contextually of active PAI learning in both educational institutions through the use of project-based learning strategies.AbstrakBeberapa tahun pengalaman mengajar pelatihan Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Profesi Guru (PLPG) untuk guru di Kementrian Agama terutama guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), ditemukan fakta bahwa “guru” sebagai instrumen terpenting dalam proses kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas dianggap tidak menarik. Oleh karenanya, “guru” dituntut untuk mendesain pengembangan kurikulum PAI dan melakukan pembelajaran kontekstual pada mata pelajaran PAI, sehingga mampu menghubungkan materi dengan kehidupan nyata siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi hubungan antara pengembangan kurikulum dengan peningkatan pembelajaran kontekstual PAI. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan rancangan multi-kasus yang dilaksanakan di SMPN 3 Rejoso Darul Ulum dan MTsN Tambak Beras Jombang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa; (1) Pendekatan pengembangan kurikulum yang biasa dirujuk dan digunakan pada kedua lembaga tersebut adalah pendekatan akademik dan humanistik. Sedangkan pendekatan teknologis masih belum jelas penggunaannya. (2) Penggunaan literatur tambahan PAI seperti Fikih dan pengembangan bahasa Arab, dengan merujuk kitab Fath al-Qarib dan kitab Amsilah Tasrifiyah sebagai bentuk integrasi antara kurikulum formal di sekolah dengan kurikulum pondok pesantren. (3) Secara faktual dapat ditegaskan bahwa proses pengembangan kurikulum dapat meningkatkan kontekstualitas pembelajaran PAI secara aktif pada kedua lembaga pendidikan tersebut melalui penggunaan strategi project based learning. This article examines Seyyed Hossein Nasr's teaching on Sufism and its relevance to modern society. The fact is that the paradigm and lifestyle of modern humans are materialism-oriented. Therefore, they experience a spiritual emptiness that causes anxiety. This study applies the literature approach by collecting various related sources. This study found that Seyyed Hossein Nasr's idea of neo-Sufism can be an alternative paradigm for modern people to free themselves from the threat of materialism and hedonism. The Divine spirit of humans will form spiritual power in the human soul to keep the connectivity between the servant and God. Nasr's teaching on Sufism puts forward the concept of balance and moderation between the life in this world and hereafter, between shari'ah and haqeqat, and between individual and social life.
This study aims to examine and analyze the concept of Shari’a contemplation in Sufism. It will show the importance of the synergy between Shari’a and Haqiqa dimensions in Sufism. This article is a literature-based study in which the data were collected from various literature, documentation, and other related sources. This study revealed that the concept of Shari’a contemplation in Sufism is a method of spiritual journey wherein someone practicing amaliah, teachings, and Sufistic life does not leave the commands of the Shari’a. The aspect of the Shari’a must be mature and still preserved with his intense closeness to Allah SWT. Contemplation of Shari›a as one of the spiritual practices emphasizes the importance of meditation and emptying the mind from everything except Allah SWT. Thus, a Salik is still obliged to carry out the Shari›a responsibilities and other obligations as a servant of Allah. In other words, contemplation is not limited to meditation physically but also inwardly, in the form of emptying everything except Allah and transforming ethical and aesthetic values into the practice of contemplation.
