Objective: to describe the process for the elaboration and validation of a digital educational booklet intended for health professionals on the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment in the context of COVID-19. Method: a methodological study conducted between June and September 2020, operationalized in three stages: 1ststage: bibliographic survey; 2ndstage: elaboration of the booklet with the graphic designer to help in the development process of the technology; 3rdstage: content validation of the booklet by specialists through the Delphi technique. The validation was performed by 35 health and biology professionals and the local for selection of these was the Lattes Platform, using the Delphi technique in two rounds. The Content Validation Index was considered an acceptance criterion, with an agreement ≥ 0.78 among the judges being considered a good level. Results: the first version of the booklet obtained a global Content Validation Index of 0.79. There were suggestions for improvement that were accepted and, after the Delphi 2 phase, there was the resubmission of the booklet; it presented a global Content Validation Index of 0.99. Conclusion: the booklet was validated regarding its content and is compatible with its intended purpose, being important for the promotion of knowledge about the correct procedure to put on this equipment so that prevention measures are effective and shared.
This study aimed to identify the impacts of vertical transmission of sexually transmitted infections in newborns through an integrative review. The methodology was performed from the intersection of the Descriptors in Health Sciences Neonatal Nursing; Sexually transmitted diseases; Infectious Disease Vertical Transmission in the Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Scopus, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), and Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo). At the end of the searches, 29 articles were obtained where 14 of these studies (48.2%) had HIV / AIDS as their central theme. It was found that the need for interruption of breastfeeding, preterm and low birth weight births, neonatal or stillbirth deaths are the main impacts of transmission. It was also identified that infected women should suspend breastfeeding as this may be a source of vertical transmission. In contrast, public policies related to child nutrition prove to be ineffective. Other problems concern the higher prevalence of severe comorbidities, such as pulmonary tuberculosis, bacteremia and diarrheal diseases. From the point of view of the organization of practices related to vertical transmission, comprehensiveness indicates the need for definition by the public power which has competence in the organization of care and therapeutic guidelines. It is concluded that this work opens perspectives for further studies on the aforementioned theme, since effective measures of vertical transmission control are necessary in order to interrupt this cycle that impacts the human development indices of the country.
Objective: To analyze the spatial distribution of congenital syphilis cases in a state in northeastern Brazil. Method: This is an ecological study, with secondary data for the period from 2008 to 2018, taking as a sample the notified cases of congenital syphilis in Rio Grande do Norte. In the data analysis, the eight health regions of the state were used as units of analysis, and the local and global Moran’s I was performed, with subsequent smoothing through the local empirical Bayesian method, which resulted in thematic maps. Results: The results showed an increase in cases of congenital syphilis in the 3rd and 7thhealth regions. In terms of spatial analysis, this investigation showed clusters in the 3rd, 5th, and 7thhealth regions, with an increased risk for congenital syphilis of up to 2.65 times and with an incidence rate of 7.91 cases per 1,000 live births. Conclusion: The spatial analysis of congenital syphilis cases allowed observing a high incidence in some health regions, with averages above those calculated for the entire state, indicating the need to implement effective strategies to achieve its control.
