Purpose:To demonstrate how new technologies can contribute to companies in all sectors, especially manufacturing companies, in their organizational growth and improve their production, efficiency and effectiveness, based on Intelligent Systems and ICTs to move towards Industry 4.0. Methodology: This research article was composed using a systematic review of various sources related to our central theme, using the Technology Watch Service of the National University of Trujillo and other reliable and prestigious bibliographic sources. Findings: This article shows the challenges and limitations faced by companies when implementing ICTs, as well as learning about the main advantages and strategies that Industry 4.0 technologies possess. Value: This research provides an overview that motivates SMEs in the industrial sector to take the risk of adopting the new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
