Objectives: To elaborate operational defi nitions for the Nomenclature nursing diagnoses, interventionsand outcomes of the Pediatric Clinic at a University Hospital and carry out a validation of the content and clinical aspects of this Nomenclature. Method: Methodological research, developed in two stages: documentary study, for the validation of content of the operational defi nitions of nursing diagnoses; and secondly applied research, via clinical cases, performed with children from 0 to 5 years. Results: The 126 diagnoses were submitted to consensus validation and 55.6% were validated. Six clinical case studies were carried out, using the phases of the nursing process, based on the theory of Basic Human Needs, identifying 24.3% of the validated diagnoses and 54.5% of the nursing interventions listed in the Nomenclature. Conclusion: The study showed the effectiveness of using the Nomenclature in the Pediatric Clinic, in order to optimize the care andquality of health services.
Objective: to build a term database relevant to nursing practice in the context of COVID-19 infections. Methods: this is a methodological, documentary study, carried out from March to June 2020 at ICNP®/ Universidade Federal da Paraíba center, considered a reference for research and dissemination of ICNP® in Brazil. The findings were collected in databases and analyzed using the PorOnto tool, the consensus technique and the mapping of terms with ICNP®, version 2019/2020. Results: 1,134 relevant terms were identified in literature. When submitted to the mapping technique with the terms of ICNP® Seven Axis Model, it resulted in 531 constant terms and 603 nonconstant terms in this classification. Final considerations: It is proven that nursing practice terms, even in a specific context, are present in the literature and are representative in ICNP®, which will enable the future development of a terminological subset in the context of coronavirus infections.
Objective: To map the nursing theories developed to meet children's needs. Method: The JBI methodology and the PRISMA guided this scoping review. The search took place between October and November 2021, based on the PCC mnemonic: P (Population) -a child aged 0 to 9 years; C (Concept) -nursing theories; C (Context) -nursing. Results: We identified 2,242 publications and selected 21 manuscripts consisting of nursing theories to meet children's feeding needs, child pain, a child with asthma, diabetes, obesity, epilepsy, Congenital Zika Syndrome, autism spectrum disorder; theory for care in Intensive Care Units; health promotion to premature babies; procedures in Intensive Care Units; theory for nursing diagnosis ineffective breathing pattern in children with congenital heart disease; sleep associated with child development; parent-child interaction; nurse-child relationship; and child's consultation. Conclusion: The nursing theories mapped have the potential to outline the course of nursing care to children's needs highlighted in the studies that made up the sample.
Mapping terms of nursing practice in the monitoring of growth and development of the childAbstract: Documentary research, developed with the goals of identifying terms relevant to nursing practice in the Ministry of Health Manual of growth and development of children, and to perform mapping with the terms of the ICNP®. We identified 576 terms, which were subjected to cross-mapping process, resulting in 187 and 389 constant terms not listed. We conclude that the identification of terms in the ICNP® depicts the practice of nursing in the growth and development of children in the same way that the terms not listed in the Manual reflects the need for inclusion of studies in this same terminology. Keywords: Child health; growth and development; nursing practice.
Objective: To analyze the concept of “Obstetric violence” in the Nursing context based on identifying its antecedents, attributes, and consequences. Materials and method: It is a conceptual analysis that follows the method proposed by the Walker and Avant model, which consists of eight stages. Six stages were used to contemplate the study objective, namely: selection of the concept; delimitation of the analysis objectives; identification of different uses of the concept in the literature; determination of the essential attributes; identification of the concept’s antecedents and consequents, and definition of the concept’s empirical references. Results: The sample was comprised of 22 studies. A total of 31 antecedents were evidenced: 24 attributes for physical violence; 35 for psychological/emotional violence; 6 for institutional and sexual violence, and 5 for structural violence. Regarding the consequences, 39 elements were found. Conclusions: The study contributes to Nursing science, research, and clinical practice, providing scientific support with a deep discussion of the phenomenon and presenting the antecedents, attributes, and consequences of obstetric violence in detail. It enables Nursing professionals to recognize the empirical indicators of the concept; thus, it is likely that they will have more knowledge that will lead them to more precise Nursing care, in addition to subsidies to prevent obstetric violence.
