ResumenEl objetivo del presente trabajo es realizar un análisis de la información demográfica y de los principales indicadores laborales y educativos de la población comprendida entre los jóvenes de 15 a 29 años de edad. La información en análisis se corresponde con los Censos Nacionales de Población y Vivienda de los años 1970, 1980, 1991 y 2001 para el total del país. A partir de dicha información, se realizó una comparación histórica y sistemática de los indicadores laborales y educativos por grupo etáreo, dando cuenta de las principales tendencias verificadas en ambos. Este análisis nos permitió brindar un panorama histórico de los cambios que se fueron sucediendo en la situación de los jóvenes en la argentina a lo largo de los últimos 30 años.Palabras clave: Sociología de la juventud, mercado de trabajo, educación y trabajo, sistema educativo.AbstractThe aim of the present work is to do some analysis of the demographic information and of the main labour and educational indicators of the younger generation between 15 to 29 years of age. The information in the analysis is in agreement with the National Censuses of Population and Housing from the years 1970, 1980, 1991 and 2001 for the whole country. From this information, a historical and systematic comparison of the work and educational indicators by age group was carried out, giving account of the main tendencies verified in both. This analysis allowed the researchers to offer a historical view of the changes that happened to young people in Argentina during the last 30 years.Key words: Sociology of youth, work market, education and work, educational system.
