Uno de ellos fue la dependencia de Marruecos del azúcar de Cuba, lo que supuso un problema para los objetivos del monarca, dada la política económica de Washington hacia el régimen castrista. Este estudio, basado en documentación diplomática estadounidense (National Archives and Records Administration y Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library), analiza el desarrollo del caso y cómo la Administración Johnson y el Gobierno de Marruecos ajustaron sus políticas respectivas para salvaguardar sus intereses.
This article focuses on two aspects of the United States foreign policy towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. First, it presents a historical overview of the United States relations with Israel and with the Palestinians underlining the different phases that these bilateral relations have gone through sin ce the establishment of the state of Israel. Secondly, it explains the linkage between domestic and foreign American policy through the analysis of the different roles played by the Jewish American community and the Arab and Muslim American communities in the U.S. political system, and how their respective lobbying efforts finally translate into the make-up of Congress.
