This paper proposes a low cost single-phase gen erator system. This system consists of a three-phase squirrel cage induction machine used as single-phase generator with a Inverter Shared-Leg Rectifier Steinmetz connection. A VSI (Voltage Source Inverter) with three lc legs is used to feed the generator and a controlled rectifier unit, wh ich injects generated energy to single-phase system. The three-phase squirrel ca ge induction machine is cheaper than + other machines for the same power range, and low maintenance E cost. The converter VSI with three legs is available in compact modules with integrated gate-driver with reduced price. Analysis, dynamic simulation and experimental results are presented for the proposed system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
