Nile tilapia is reared commercially in more than 120 countries worldwide with an estimated market value of 9.8 billion US dollars (FAO, 2019;Weimin, 2017). Farmed Nile tilapia are susceptible to various diseases (Amal & Zamri-Saad, 2011), which directly threatens the livelihood and food security of millions of small-scale farmers in the developing and underdeveloped countries. The economic impact of Streptococcosis alone on Tilapia industry is greater than 1 billion USD .
