A critical examination of the behavioral approach to the treatment of lecturelearning difficulties in school (1967)(1968)(1969)(1970)(1971)(1972)(1973) shows important imperfections. Moreover, inadequate measures and/or controls raise questions about the validity of positive findings. Some corrective means would improve the assessment and evaluation of changes induced by the treatment. Also, it appears essential to individualise the new learning conditions and to control for staff efficiency. RESUME L'examen critique de la contribution behaviorale au traitement des difficultes d'apprentissage de la lecture en milieu scolaire (1967)(1968)(1969)(1970)(1971)(1972)(1973) revele, pour chacune des etapes de I'elaboration du traitement, l'existence de failles importantes communes a plusieurs recherches. En outre, I'utilisafion de mesures etyou de moyens de controle inadequats dans la majorite des recherches remet en question la validite des resultats positifs.Certains correctifs permettraient d'ameliorer la precision du diagnostic et devaluation des changements en cours de traitement. II apparaft egalement necessaire d'individualiser les nouvedes conditions d'apprentissage et de s'assurer de I'efficacite du personnel.
