PSS electrodes because of the increased solvent resistance. The LC side chains reduce the ability for cross-linking resulting in decreased breakdown field strengths.
Semifluorinated (SF) side chain polymers show phase separation between polymer backbone and SF side chains. Due to strong interaction between SF segments the side chains determine the structure behaviour strongly, often resulting in layered structures in which backbones and layers of SF side chains alternate. The interest in this work was directed to find out the dependence of these structures on concentration of SF side chains. Thin films of random copolymers consisting of methylmethacrylate (MMA) and semifluorinated side chain methacrylate (SFMA) segments and with different fluorine content in the perfluoroalkyl side chains (abbreviated as H10F10 and H2F8) were prepared by spin-coating. Phase separation and structure changes were initiated by external subsequent annealing. Corresponding bulk material served as basic information. Generation of ordered structures and variation of film parameters were observed using different X-ray scattering methods (XRR, GIWAXS, and GISAXS). The phase behaviour in bulk is governed by the SF side chain amount and their specific fluorine content which control the self-organization tendency of SF side chains.Additionally, the confinement in thin films generates an orientation of side chains normally to film surface.
Printed electronics have been introduced into the commercial markets in recent years. Various printing technologies have emerged aiming to process printed electronic devices with low cost, environmental friendliness, and compatibility with large areas and flexible substrates. The aim of this study is to propose a continuous solution dispensing technology for processing all-printed thin-film capacitors on glass substrates using a leading-edge printing instrument. Among all printing technologies, this study provides concrete proof of the following outstanding advantages of this technology: high tolerance to inks, high throughput, low cost, and precise pattern transfers. Ag nanoparticle ink based on glycol ethers was used to print the electrodes. To obtain dielectric ink, a copolymer powder of poly(methyl methacrylate-co-benzoylphenyl methacrylate) containing crosslinkable side groups was dissolved in anisole. Various layouts were designed to support multiple electronic applications. Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy were used to investigate the all-printed capacitor layers formed using the proposed process. Additionally, the printed capacitors were electrically characterized under direct current and alternating current. The measured electrical properties of the printed capacitors were consistent with the theoretical results.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
