The purpose of this research was to analyze the prevalence of fake news on social networks, and implicitly, the economic crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the identification of solutions for filtering and detecting fake news. In this context, we created a series of functions to identify fake content, using information collected from different articles, through advanced machine learning methods with which we could upload and analyze the obtained data. The methodology proposed in this research determined a higher accuracy of fake news collected from Facebook, one of the most powerful social networks for the dissemination of informative content. Thus, the use of advanced machine learning methods and natural language processing code led to an improvement in the detection of fake news compared to conventional methods.
The interconnection of devices, intended to collect and transmit data via the Internet, is called the Internet of Things (IoT). This technology has the potential to revolutionize both the economic and industrial sectors, especially in terms of data confidentiality and information security. New media, with a merger between those two, have increasingly replaced traditional media, but many researchers characterize them as two distinct but interconnected types of media. From the traditional media, with its technological evolution, the IoT has supported the development of the media through the emergence of applications, websites, and social networks designed to spread information worldwide. This research focuses on how the IoT has the ability to influence economic growth by trying to determine the impact of the IoT through theories and the evolution of economic growth. Thus, the concept of the IoT is interdependent on information and communications technology and, from an economic point of view, is correlated with productivity. In addition, the processes that have an impact on the media are those of an economic nature, all of which are interconnected with progress, innovation, and the promotion of goods and services. At the same time, this paper aims to determine the correlation between IoT and the economy, with a focus on the media, which has the main result of the development of new businesses. Thus, a bibliometric analysis of the scientific papers on the Web of Science platform regarding the IoT field was performed, in order to identify the current state of knowledge in this field. The results of this analysis highlighted that both the IoT and the economy are shaped by innovation, opportunities, and development.
This research aims to analyze how the media can favor economic development at the regional level, observing how mass media reports on the economy are relevant to Romania’s population, and if the content provided stimulates economic development action. Mass media is one of the main channels of information for many companies, and the acquisition of correct and qualitative information generates informed decisions. Additionally, the mass media has the role of producing changes in the behavior of the consuming public, and in its culture, and can improve its educational level. Although the variety of information sources, which has been improved over time by technology, does not guarantee their use, the mass media, through the information it provides, can change attitudes and values, and lead to a higher standard of living. The present study includes both qualitative and quantitative methods, which look at the media and its effects on companies. Through two surveys, data were collected on how the population relates to the information obtained from the mass media, as well as how the mass media is used by the companies in the Northeast Region of Romania. The benefits and challenges that companies encounter while using social networks have thus been determined. Additionally, the qualitative method was used, in order to be able to observe whether there are significant differences in the use of social networks to develop an emerging business, in terms of the male-female ratio.
The main processes that have an impact on the entrepreneurial media are innovation, promotion of products and services, and the element of novelty. Through technological progress and the dynamism of labor market development, new entrepreneurial directions have emerged, which have seen a rise through the development of media content. Media and entrepreneurship determine new content techniques, resulting in new services and products. This paper aims to highlight the correlation of the media industry with that of entrepreneurship, these being in a close relationship, which results in innovation, creative content, and business development. To this extent, a bibliometric analysis was performed on a corpus of scientific papers, from the Web of Science platform, focusing on media entrepreneurship to determine the current state of knowledge in this area. Furthermore, the analysis reveals the most researched themes and the relevant terminology used. As a selection protocol of the scientific material for media a series of keywords were used, that is: “media”, “internet”, “radio”, “TV”, “newspapers”, “social media”, “journalism” and for entrepreneurship we followed the keywords: “business”, “entrepreneurship” and “entrepreneur”. The results of the analysis showed that the most frequently used terms in media entrepreneurship research studies are: Internet, development, social medium, and business model. In addition to that, media and entrepreneurship seem to be closely researched concerning innovation, economic development, and education.
