For oximetry applications, the first dual red−near-infrared (NIR) emissive organic light-emitting diode (OLED) based on mixed-ligand complexes Eu x Yb 1−x (dbm) 3 BPhen (x = 0; 0.01; 0.02; 0.05; 0.1; 1) is obtained. The photoluminescence quantum yields of the ytterbium and europium in the obtained complexes reach 0.9 and 31%, respectively, which are rather high values for the complexes of these ions. Dual visible−NIR emissive compounds Eu x Yb 1−x (dbm) 3 BPhen are tested in OLEDs, and Eu 0.05 Yb 0.95 (dbm) 3 BPhen demonstrates the most intense electroluminescence both in visible (270 cd/m 2 ) and NIR range (19 μW/cm 2 ). The Eu 0.05 Yb 0.95 (dbm) 3 BPhen-based OLED is successfully used to produce the first lanthanide OLED-based pulsimeter prototype.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
