Beads of cellulose acetate containing titanium dioxide (TiO 2 /AC) were synthesized containing 10% and 6% (m/m) of TiO 2 and Ti, respectively. The TiO 2 is in the anatase form and is homogeneously dispersed on the surface of the cellulose acetate. The synthesized beads were efficient in the degradation of the micropollutants: Amoxicillin (99.0% in 240 minutes), Fluoxetine (85% in 180 minutes) and Simvastatin (99.1% in 30 minutes) by heterogeneous photocatalysis. The results obtained in our studies are similar or better than those obtained in other studies reported in the literature. Keywords: Beads of cellulose acetate; heterogeneous photocatalysis; organic micropollutants; advanced oxidative processes.
