Evolution of technologies like IoT has enabled connection of devices around the world through internet. The devices are mostly termed as smart devices because of their capability to transmit, receive and process data. It is considered to be one of the fastest growing technologies and its users are increasing rapidly day by day. Successful implementation of IoT depends on the amount of data that is being either transmitted or received over the networks, ensuring quality of services (QoS) and the methods adopted to fight the energy constraints of the battery powered devices. The QoS parameters at the network level are end to end delay, throughput, jitter and packet delivery ratio. With the increase in number of IoT device on the network it has become essential to concentrate on security of devices and at the same time security of data that is being transferred over the networks. In this paper we have tried to study the algorithms that have been used to preserve location of source and sink nodes to protect it from breaching and also tried to analyze the effect of these security algorithms on the QoS of IoT networks.
The internet of things is a versatile technology that helps to connect devices with other devices or humans in any part of the world at any time. Some of the researchers claim that the number of IoT devices around the world will surpass the total population on the earth after a few years. The technology has made life easier, but these comforts are backed up with a lot of security threats. Wireless medium for communication, large amount of data, and device constraints of the IoT devices are some of the factors that increase their vulnerability to security threats. This chapter provides information about the attacks at different layers of IoT architecture. It also mentions the benefits of technologies like blockchain and machine learning that can help to solve the security issues of IoT.
A large amount of data is transferred by the IoT devices over the network. The successful transmission of data from the source nodes to the destination nodes depends on the reliability of the network. In the absence of good networks the IoT technology will not be able to work properly as the failure in transfer of data would result in the malfunctioning of the applications. The Quality of Services (QoS) parameters of the network helps in knowing the capability of the networks in transferring data. These parameters would help the service providers to improve the shortcomings in the network and provide better service to its users. End to end delay, packet delivery ratio, energy consumption, jitter, routing over load and throughput are some of the parameters discussed in this paper. The parameters have been calculated by the different types of network and the variation of these parameters with the change in the size of network have been studied.

Many people face health and psychological issues due to overuse of social media. So, there is a need to promote techniques of a healthy lifestyle for the people, especially the youth. After studying the ill effects of social media and excessive phone usage by the youth, the authors have tried to use heartfulness to reduce the impact of the digital world on their physical and mental health. If we can train our minds properly, we can avoid unwanted thoughts and focus inward. But we have to know the correct techniques to train our minds. The heart plays a very important role so by meditating on the heart one can control their thoughts. It happens only through heartfulness meditation practice. Meditation helps us to improve sleep quality and sound sleep gives us a healthy lifestyle. By regular practice of heartfulness meditation, one can have better awareness and self-control by which the health of an individual remains good.
