Taking on the issue of the quality of human life at a senior age requires the adoption of a particular perspective to recognizing the phenomenon of old age. It is in fact a phenomenon extremely diverse, multifaceted, involving closely related aspects of the biological, social and psychological, and its course is conditioned by the convolution of a variety of factors. One of them is the emigration of young people, who leave their parents alone in the home country and in fact make them Euroorphans. Job migration of adult children is a critical event in the lives of seniors and thus has a significant impact on their life quality. It is treated as a cognitive-emotional category associated with the environmental context of their daily activities. The phenomenon of Euro-orphanhood of seniors generates new lines of research in the field of social pedagogy. Contribution to them is mentioned in the article as a comparative research project.
The search for a conception of health education that could be contained within the framework of the pedagogical category of integral education is associated with the contemporary philosophy of health and the basic beliefs of which allowing for the identification of health with biopsychosocial well-being. In the context of the contemporary cultural valuation of the body education faces a number of difficulties and is falling short in many areas. One of the directions proposed within health education is to base its teleological foundations on the integral vision of man, in which he constitutes the ontic whole of the bios and psyche, the organic body and the spiritual life, organized by the principle of the personal "I". The implementation of such goals requires the reference to values, hence in the integral approach to health education, the key task is to shape axiological awareness in relation to the value of the human body.
The main goal of the analysis presented in this paper is to examine the dynamics of including other-sex peers in the peer networks of early adolescents, aged 11 (at T1) and 13 (at T2), and the relationship between sex heterophily and changes in the sense of peer integration. The analysis was conducted using the Latent Difference Score (LDS) model with data from a representative nationwide longitudinal study in Poland (n = 5748). With reference to the dynamics related to the heterophilic process, the research confirmed that at the beginning of grade 5 of primary school, heterophily is still relatively rare, yet towards the end of early adolescence, there is a gradual shift, more strongly in girls, towards breaking through the strictly same-sex segregation and embarking on heterophilic relationships. Importantly, the LDS model—even when controlling for different measures of peer network—showed significant and positive (among both girls and boys) relations between establishing cross-sex relationships and the sense of peer integration. The results indicate that the appearance of the opposite sex in the peer network between grades 5 and 6 will improve the sense of peer integration. The findings are discussed in relation to results from other studies in the field.
