This paper describes a concept of a novel webbased CAD software for gear shaper cutters, including its core implementation aspects. Web-based system is proposed as a better alternative to traditional desktop CAD systems based on case study of Dathan Tool & Gauge Co. Ltd. One of the main issues in the development of a web-based CAD system is the need to process and, subsequently, visualise a lot of technical product drawings and sketches. Conventional web-oriented design systems are either integrated with specialised CAD software for processing technical drawings or use dedicated graphics visualisation tools. The proposed web-based CAD software tool for gear shaper cutters relies on technologies supported by regular web browser programs with no need for additional client software and is based on the freely available components and standards.
Abstract:The absence of a common approach for design and development of Web-based CAD/CAM systems is associated with increased risks and challenges. To overcome them and facilitate successful implementation of this kind of software within the commercial environment, a systematic approach is required that will ensure robustness, effectiveness, usability and ease of maintenance of these applications. This research establishes a methodology for creating Web-based CAD/CAM software systems, which will help develop complex Webbased CAD/CAM systems to industrial quality standards in a time and cost effective manner. The crucial parts of the methodology are a novel project development model facilitating architecture optimisation early in the project and a novel approach for planning based on time reserve management and task prioritisation.
Journalism has been changed, and these changes have affected journalist education. Future journalists should have multimedia skills, creative thinking and be able to communicate with foreigners to observe and tell about foreign cultures. That is why the problem of teaching in the international context is very important in the 21 st century. The authors of the article describe didactic and psychological aspects of teaching Englishlanguage discipline "International Journalism" and analyse them in content, organizational and professional levels. The results obtained in this study can be useful for creating an educational environment for the process of teaching journalist students.
Multi-story frame buildings in precast concrete are one of the main types of buildings being built in the country. The article considers and analyzes the results of the numerical calculation of the structural system of a multi-story frame building, made using the LIRA-SAPR software package. It has been shown that with a semi-rigid assembly of the crossbars with columns it is necessary and possible to simulate the compliance of the joints. The ratio of bending moments in spans and on supports in the crossbars of the calculation scheme depends on the coefficient of compliance (rigidity) of the joints. In its turn, the compliance of semi-rigid joints is a complex quantity, determined by the compliance of the structural elements of the joints, namely: the compliance of the embedded parts in the joined elements of the frame, the compliance of the connecting cover plate, the compliance of the welds for the connecting cover plate, as well as the compliance of the seam between the crossbar and a column filled with cement-sand mortar. An algorithm for determining the compliance of structural elements of a semi-rigid joint is given.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
