The aim of this study is to quantitatively measure the effect of the cognitive and socioemotional stimulation programme through the neuromotricity BAPNE method on trait anxiety, state anxiety and the attentional network in students in the 3rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education. The research was carried out in an educational centre in the Region of Murcia (Spain). The participants were N=105 students divided into an experimental group (n=53) and a control group (n=52). An intervention of 50 minutes five times a week for 30 weeks was applied to the experimental group using various programmes of activities of the BAPNE method. The control group continued with their programme without any changes. A quasi-experimental between-subjects design was used with pre- and post-intervention assessment measures. The assessment instruments were the test of anxiety (STAI) and the test of attention (Caras-R). The statistical software SPSS version 25 for Windows and Microsoft Excel were used for the preparation of Tables and Figures. Parametric and non-parametric tests were applied according to the statistical requirement. When comparing the difference between the pretest and the posttest, statistically significant results were observed in favour of the experimental group in state anxiety (p<0.001), trait anxiety (p<0.001), and in the increase in the number of net successes in the attention test (p<0.001). Based on the results, we conclude that the programme of activities of the BAPNE method applied could possibly serve to reduce anxiety and increase the attention of the students in question, both in males and females. Keywords: Body percussion, BAPNE, anxiety, attention, neuromotricity
Body percussion has emerged strongly in the last decades and not all quality information has been indexed in primary databases. The aim of this work was to present a bibliometric study on body percussion that agglomerated the main international documents from 2001 to 2021 found exclusively in secondary scientific-academic databases and that could serve as a starting point for new research on this discipline. A sample of n=128 documents extracted from Dialnet, Redalyc, DOAJ and specific search engines was selected. An ex post facto retrospective design and a frequency analysis in Microsoft Excel of the main bibliometric variables were used. As main results, it was observed that Spain and Spanish are the most productive country and the preferred language of publication, being 2019 the most prolific year, and the book chapter the most representative document. First-order papers, non-intervention papers, publication of a single paper per author and solo publication predominate. A single exclusive research group on body percussion was found in the line of possible cognitive stimulation and executive functions captained by the most significant author of the study, Francisco Javier Romero-Naranjo. In the intervention works, the quantitative approach prevails, through the BAPNE activities as methodology, the action-research design, the application of the intervention without control group (experimental only), the evaluation after the intervention (posttest only), and the questionnaire as evaluation instrument.
The lack of attention and concentration in the classroom is evidence accepted by most teachers. The purpose of this research is to quantify and verify that the BAPNE body percussion method is effective in increasing the selective attention of students in the 3rd grade of Primary Education. This project has been carried out with a group of n=67 children aged between eight and nine years divided into control and experimental groups and coming from two public centers in the Valencian town of Buñol (Spain). We have intervened with the experimental group for 25 weeks twice a week in fifty-minute sessions and applying a protocol of activities called Bodypercussion-Teaching Method. The control group did not carry out the BAPNE neuromotricity program and continued with the same routines without making any change in the development of its teaching programming. A basic quasi-experimental design has been used with measures before and after the application of the method and a mixed statistical analysis (inter-intra subjects) comparing the data obtained in pre-test and post-test between the control and experimental groups and between the students of the experimental group. The 4th edition of the Brickenkamp and Seisdedos "d2" concentration and selective attention test (2012) published by TEA editions were used to measure the attentional performance of students. The results obtained after data analysis revealed a statistically significant improvement in selective attention and concentration.
The purpose of this work is to present the state of the art of body percussion through a bibliometric study that collects the most significant literature at the international level from 2005 to 2021, and that can serve as a basis for future research on this topic. A total of n=64 documents were selected, extracted solely and exclusively from primary search engines with high academic scientific rigor: Web of Science (WOS) and SCOPUS. An ex post facto retrospective design was used and the information was classified in a Microsoft Excel database to subsequently carry out a frequency analysis of temporal, demographic, linguistic, production, citation and methodological variables. The main results are that Spain is the largest producer of literature through the BAPNE research group in the line of cognitive stimulation and executive functions. Non-intervention papers written in English and published in scientific journals predominate. Within the intervention studies, quantitative, quasi-experimental works prevail, with control and experimental groups, use of pretest and post-test and the test is the main evaluation instrument. It is ratified that the term "body music" is not suitable for research on body percussion and that it produces a great waste of time for researchers on the subject. On the contrary, the term "body percussion" is the most appropriate and effective term in the primary search engines.
