Pronator teres syndrome is a rare condition, in which compression on the median nerve occurs at the elbow joint. It is a very rare condition compare to carpel tunnel syndrome. Compression can cause pain and numbness in the hand. The most common cause of pronator teres syndrome is compression of the median nerve in between the two belley’s of pronator teres muscles. In the case of advanced disease, the pain and numbness can be managed by prednisolone injections. Some of the literature shows massage therapy also works on relieving the symptoms. Matrix rhythm therapy (MaRhyThe) has shown to be beneficial in the treatment of pain and movement disturbances. Matrix rhythm therapy is invented by Dr.Randoll from Germany for the treatment of pain and does not have side effects. The case report was aimed to evaluate the effect of matrix rhythm therapy on pronator teres syndrome which lasted for 60 minutes each day for 3 days and was divided into 3 zones along with other physiotherapy interventions. It showed a positive result in pronator teres syndrome as the pain was reduced on the 3rd day of the session.
Cervical radiculopathy (CR) is the second most common problem in field of physiotherapy. The main aim of this case report is to determine the effect of oscillatory Mobilisation and Mckenzie retraction exercises in cervical radiculopathy. A case study was conducted at Musculoskeletal Department of MGM Physiotherapy Aurangabad. We approached patient treatment from multiple aspects which mainly include oscillatory mobilisation and McKenzie retraction exercises. We evaluated our outcome variables using numeric pain rating scale (NPRS), cervical range of motion and scapular muscle strength. We found that oscillatory mobilization associated to Mckenzie retraction exercises significantly decrease pain and improve cervical mobility and scapular muscle strength.
Background: Knee Osteoarthritis affects the entire joint, causing synovial inflammation, cartilage injury, bone remodeling, and the development of osteophytes. Pain, muscle fatigue, joint dysfunction, brief morning stiffness, crepitus, and functional limitations are the common symptoms of knee osteoarthritis.Pain Neuro Science Education (PNE) produces wonderful effects in altering the pain perception of patients by changing their perspective towards pain and reducing pain catastrophization.Methodology A 61 year old female primarily complaining of pain in her right knee (9 on NPRS) along with crepitus, swelling and painful knee flexionfor which shereceived conventional physiotherapy treatment (Cryotherapy, IFT, Ultrasound, strengthening exercises) along with pain neuroscience education PNE (Neurobiology of pain, Education about the pathology of OA, Audio visual aids 30 min session for 5 days Outcome measures were NPRS for pain, pain catastrophizing scale (PCS).Result: PNE has/was shown an additive effect on overall reducing pain and pain catastrophizing along with the conventional physiotherapy treatment.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
